Update on Travel Restrictions

Postby KeithS » Sun Sep 03, 2006 6:24 pm

Here we go again!

There has been some minor changes with relation to restricted items so I'll try and summarise it all below.

Sydney - Hong Kong
No changes to the old policy - liquids and gels etc are still permitted on board.

Hong Kong - Paris
No changes to the old policy - liquids and gels etc are still permitted on board.

Paris - Orlando
From the AA website
"Travel From Paris Charles de Gaulle - In order to reduce delays, American Airlines encourages customers to take as little hand luggage as possible (no more than one piece) through the security checkpoints. Items must be in small, clear plastic bags, and may not contain Prohibited items."

I'm assuming this means that you can still have a piece of carry on, but the items in the carry on must be in plastic bags so that it doesn't take very long to examine them all. The "Prohibited Items" is the usual liquids, gels and aerosols.

Orlando - Los Angeles
Carry on luggage is allowed but no liquids, gels and aerosols.

Los Angeles - Sydney
Carry on baggage is allowed but no liquids, gels or aersols. All passengers will be patted down before boarding.

Just as a side note, my sister is traveling in the UK at the moment and she wasn't allowed carry on items. She checked everything and when she arrived in Newcastle UK after her flight from London - her luggage was missing - when it was delivered by courier the next day, it had been broken into and all her valuables stolen - so ladies, wear your jewellery...

Okay, here we go. The sun has gone down on our final day before departure. The bags are all packed (almost). The passports, tickets, currency etc are at the ready, my mobile phone is charged, my credit card is in my wallet - yep, all set!

Now we just have to await our flight - so at 10:45 tomorrow, think of us as we take off. Next time I'm online, I'll be somewhere else (not sure where yet, but probably I'll drop in when we get to Florida)

See you all in a couple of weeks :D

it's 7am in Paris, and I am in the Internet Room of the Santa Fe Hotel ,
Paris Parks are incredable but they do not look after them well.
Loved Hong Kong Park more than I thought , and the Tokyo parks were great as usual. The TOT was well done, I still can't figure out how they did some of the special effects.
having the best time but my feet are killing me

but bring on WDW

How much do I wish that I was with you? I fully expect a COMPLETE writeup when you get back (presumably running to several volumes...)

:D

Hi Guys!

Keith here live from New York City!

But it is the theme parks you'll be interested in...

...we are having a fantastic time at Walt Disney World. We had dinner the other night with Jason Surrell, the author of the Pirates of the Caribbean book.

Pop Century resort is great fun and the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party was awesome - bring on the headless horseman!

Well, we are all thinking of you guys. Hope all is well back home. I'm about to catch my flight from La Guardia back to Orlando.

Sandie - I just got your message about Mickey Ears so I'll see about getting those.

By (or should I say BUY) all!!!!

To answer your question about Fantom Manor. I liked it, its very different as it has a more defined story. it is also a lot darker with more macab seens . ps I got you a pin sandy.

Hi guys!

We are all here in Anaheim having a wonderful time. The park was pretty busy on the weekend, but it has calmed down a bit this week.

Yesterday we had a tour of LA that took us to the Walt Disney Concert Hall, followed by the Soda Fountain in Hollywood. Then the coup of the century was a full tour of the Walt Disney Studio's in Burbank (including access to many buildings including the Walt Disney Archives!!) Then we went to Walt's Barn (his old railway workshop) before returning to the hotel. We have lots of "money can't buy" moments to share - but you'll have to wait for the trip reports!!

Sandie - what size ears should I get - kids or adults?

Catch you all soon,

K.

I've got about 20 hours of video I have not even looked at yet. I am back at work now :( (dam)
I am still tired and still on US time. but Wow what a Trip. :D
I did take lots of video of the Disney Studios including the Archives, as well as footage of our "drive by" of imagineering and a confused security gard at the gate as our drive was about to drive in. :?
