Pirates Club Event Saturday 1st July 2006

A special thankyou to all members who came to our Pirates event yesterday. It was a lot of fun to organise and run. A special very large thankyou to Julie, Sandie and Keith who all did so much to make the event a success. Julie for the amazing table centrepieces, balloons, hanging pirate and pictures; Sandie for the amazing Pirates game; Keith for the trivia, clips and taking a number of photos.

Look for an article on the site in a day or two all about the day.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, the Dauntless wants to raise a "protest" flag! as 5 of the 6 crew members couldn't answer any of the Disney heads or spicks and specks questions as they all knew the answers before hand............ well actually we are pretty stupid aren't we as we were supposed to be pirates and pirates cheat and don't play by the rules do they so forget that I even mentioned it. (ha ha)

It was great to see eveybody get in the spirit of the event which helped make for a fun day. One of the highlites was Sandies treasure game (maybe you can sell the idea to Disney) another being welcoming a new member to our midst, Mike, and Mushu travelling all the way from Melboure to join us, applause to everybody! =D>

PS Keith, Jim still hasn't stopped talking about how good your costume was. I think that he was jealous of all the hair!

Sandie's pirate game had to be a highlight - plundering fellow club members for gold has never been so satisfying

I was jealous of all my hair too - I might get into the whole wig wearing thing - it'll hide my bald patches!

Annette asked me how your face got those terriblelong scars!!!

It was very painful! No, in actual fact it was theatrical cosmetics I purchased online from Melbourne. There is a product called Rigid Collodion (or 'Scar Material' in theatrical speak) - it is a clear liquid plastic, and when it dries, it pulls the skin together to give that idented look. Look up collodion scars on google and you can read all about it!

I'll get the photos off the camera later in the week and get Greg to upload them into the Club Events section in the photo gallery.

Better late than never..............

I just wanted to say what a great time I had at the Pirates meeting last weekend. What a great job you all do. =D>

A special thank you to Keith and Della (and Buzzard)for taking me under their wing and ferrying me to and fro - and not one bad pirate joke was heard.

And to my Crew mates onboard the good ship Wicked Wenches, what a blast - thanks. \:D/

It was wonderful to put so many friendly faces to names. Loved the lucky door prize (have you tested out yours yet Mike?) and the games.

Hope I can catch another one sometime.......

I have to work every Saturday now and haven't been able to make it to any meetings this year.

Sorry you haven't been able to make it - we have had great meetings this year. Trust work to get in the way of leisure!

Thanks keith for posting the photos of the "pirates - rogues gallery"
They were worth waiting for! I have made a few copies to send to a few members who couldn't make it to the meeting.
Great photos by the way, I think that we have a new official club photographer!
