No worries Ken! The photos are great - what I like about them is that although the location is different, the meeting looks just like one of ours! Hope you all had a great start to the 2010 meeting season!

Oh... that explains it.... :D No drama Ken... I made a couple attempts to watch ( I was thinking it was my extreme sleep deprivation thanks to one sick kid ALL night that was addling my brain ) but had to give it away and get ready for work.

ahhh, the joys of technology.... :D

So how did the first meeting of the year go guys?

I'm always wishing I could make it there. Sydneys just too far away from the Sunny Coast. :D

I'm not too sure yet, my tea leaf reading is failing me this morning (it's never been the same since they introduced tea-bags) :D

Hehe - the meeting is next Saturday ;)

I'm predicting that it will be fun though!

Wow! Last night's meeting was HUGE!

I don't think I've seen that many people for a long time.

Sorry Mel & Gerard - I saw you were both there but never even got the chance to say Hello!

Let's see, I'll try and give a brief run down, but apologies if I miss things out - maybe the others (Jess, Anthony, Mel, Wendy, Sandie, Gerard etc) can add what I missed!

We started with a Disney News update and Wayne mentioned that Penrith Panthers were running a series of outdoor Disney movies in February and March, which included prizes for dressing up and you could win a holiday to Disneyland.

We had a true/false trivia contest which came down to Della and Anthony's Jess - but they couldn't be split - they both kept getting the right answers.

We then watched four movies trailers, Alice in Wonderland, Prince of Persia, Sorcerer's Apprentice, and Toy Story 3. Followed by The Muppet's Bohemian Rhapsody music video :)

Nicole then spoke about her trip to Tokyo and the Disney on Classic concert she saw with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra which played the entire Lion King soundtrack (plus other Disney tunes including Pirates of the Caribbean).

Della showed the club the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Mickey Mouse that she recently acquired.

Manuel got up and reminisced about his visit to Disneyland in 1999 which coincided with the unveiling of The Partner's statue and he showed us the photo he got with Roy E. Disney at that event - Roy passed away just a few weeks ago.

Barry and Narelle then got up and spoke about their recent return to Hong Kong Disneyland where they had dinner with the President and Vice Presidents of the resort. They also bought back some wonderful lucky door prizes.

We had our group trivia session hosted by Sandie in which the table at the back of the room cheated :D

Jan spoke about her recent 7-day Disney cruise at which she had a wonderful time (although she did get bowled over by a kid on board ship and ended up with a trip to the medical bay and four stitches!)

Anthony spoke about the Walt Disney Museum and donated a great raffle prize of the Walt Disney Family Museum book (which I won! Woohoo!)

Then we wrapped up the night with food and drinks and lots of chatting!

If there is anything from the meeting I've left out - please add it below!

There were 3, 672 lucky door prizes and I still didn't get my ticket called out! (I guess that would imply that there were 3,673 people there) But I did get a consolation Dale badge for Glenda! -/

And I think the jury's out on whether going to HKDL with the McBrides in March 2011 is a good thing. You may get the royal treatment but at what price

As Keith & Beth have both mentioned, there were a huge number of people at last nights meeting.

So many people with too little time to get around to speak to everyone I had questions for.

Have to wait unitl next meeting.

Had a good time as usual though.

I'm so glad I made it. I didn't really even think about going until yesterday afternoon when I realised I was wearing my fave WDW tshirt and took it as a sign! I had a great time and was so proud of myself for pulling the Wise Acre Farm answer out of ... well, I don't know WHERE I pulled it from actually!

I missed the talk about Tokyo which is a shame, but loved hearing about the other trips and it was great to have a chat to some like-minded folks :)

It was great to see you Wendy! I'm so happy you guys have booked the trip in May - I'll update the travel thread shortly with your dates :D

See you in March!

Mel wrote:I missed the talk about Tokyo which is a shame

It was a shame that Julie got sick on Saturday so she couldn't come and give the Tokyo talk. Still, there will be another meeting before you head off, so you'll be able to catch up with her then.
