Photo Pass photo CD

Ok, now that I am back home and wading my way through the process of backing up my 3000 photos and beginning to think 'scrapping' for my usual Friday night midnight scrap session... I am having some issues with my photo pass CD.

This might just be one of those 'Doh!' questions but does anyone have any ideas why the only place I can look at them is on my laptop?
I can't view them on my DVD player, or my computer or even Zachs playstation ( which has always played all the stuff that nothing else would) - only my laptop will play them.

Any other suggestions?

Lisa.

Jess bought one of these this year - maybe she knows! I ordered mine before you told us it was cheaper at the park! :x

Mine works on everything - including Harvey Normans photo machine!

Don't panic! If you can read it on your PC - then it means someone like Anthony or myself can extract the photos and put them on a disc that can be read in other machines. We are one big happy support group here :)

Thanks Keith, that would be great. I'm going to Harvey tomorrow sometime to test it out and see if I can access the photos there. I can view them on my laptop so another thought I've had today is that maybe I could copy them onto there and then burn another disk that can be read on my PC? I've burned some of my own trip photos onto CD and I can read them on my PC despite one being XP and the other being Vista so that might work yet too.
Nice to know that help is there just the same ... :D

I didn't get to Harvey on Friday - had to work longer than expected. But I'm thinking if I can play some of my trip photos that I've backed up to disk from the laptop ( vista) on my PC (XP) then I should be able to transfer the CD photos to the laptop and then burn them onto another disk that will play in the XP.... I hope. Wont get a chance to try till mid week though. Today is 'find a home for all the souvenirs' day.... And I keep getting sidetracked by the memories.
I have to persevere though... I want to be able to walk in my bedroom again without having to step over piles of park maps, tiny bottles of tabasco sauce and the probably 20 empty Disneyland bags that I'm stuggling to part with.

Friday night scrap night consisted of me sitting beside a laptop on slideshow for 4 1/2 hours doing a running commentary.... but the preparations for the god knows how many albums of this trip has begun in earnest.

Have you had another go at getting those photos off Lisa, and if so any luck?

Nope... haven't had a chance to try yet. I have about 72 blissful kid-free hours later in the week so will probably leave it till I don't have to feed anyone or drop anyone off anywhere
Take today for instance... I have one continually starving and the other MIA (last seen heading for the cinema with friends) that I will have to track down before long. Sheesh.... teenagers.

I'm at work while mine are at home on their own. The 15 year old rings at intervals - initially to tell me he was going to cook brownies, the next call was over a high pitched noise and he asks how to turn off the smoke detector and the most recent one where is the mop and bucket - should I be worried?

Oh Thank God I'm not the only one who gets those calls. The best series of calls I've had so far is my almost 17YO son calling to ask how to make a cheesecake
Then the next phone call was - 'Mum how do I work your (expensive) mix master?'
Then there was radio silence. :?
Then the mother continued to be quietly concerned ( mostly about the mix master)
Then when I got home, I had the last slice of a superb white choc and choc chip cheesecake while still in shock. :D
But I have had the smoke detector phone call once upon a time though.

Oh the joys of school holidays.

YAY - it worked

I imported the photo pass photos onto my laptop then burnt them onto another disk that I could read on my PC...

Crisis averted...
