whats your scrapping style?

Postby mushu mama » Sun May 21, 2006 11:57 am

Was asked this question recently and wondered if I had a 'style' as such. This is what I came up with:

Lots of colour - particularly pinks, lime, orange, sherbet colours, tropical colours.
Clean lines
Lots of 3D elements/collage-y
Love moving elements and hidden journaling
Can't bring myself to tear paper (something about books...)- when I was teaching my boss asked me to do a page with torn elements it nearly killed me.
not a lot of punch work but quite like it
Kind of Becky Higgins-ish
Almost always use ribbon

So whats your style......

What a question to ask after I just spent 3 hours in Harvey Norman printing photos!!!

If I have a style I guess it is to tell a story. I have a pathological need to journal that my friends make fun off. I look at a photo and the story I want to write jumps straight into my mind.

I scrap quickly most of the time, although I do have a page or two that have taken longer than 15 hours to do. I like to surprise people by what they see when they open my albums but i don't know if I really acheive this or not. I'd like to say I am original and have my own style but that could also be my perception!

I often use ribbons, brads, buttons and no scrapbook page is complete without chocolate (in me not on the page!)

I like Becky Higgins and admire anyone who can follow a sketch - they just give me headaches.

And I LOVE \:D/ to tear.

Yep sketches can do that. I only use them as a jumping off point though and then my imagination kicks in - mostly.

I just got back from an antique fair and bought some old cigarette cards that I plan to use on a page someday (along with a few other treasures that I HAD to have of course!)

I rarely scrap quickly - one page took me over a month to get it how I wanted it. But the 'doodle challenge' page for DisneyScrappers was done in less than a day - which still amazes me.

My scrap snack of choice would be chico babies and green tea. If I eat one piece of chocolate then I have to have the whole lot so I just don't.

For your eating pleasure - a chico baby tastes wonderful if you shove it in your mouth at the sametime as a lolly banana.

Actually that sounds wonderful. \:D/

I'll have to get some banana and give it a try - I always have chicos on hand

Thats kind of like mixing those 'jellybelly' jelly beans - boy you can make some weird combos with those!

or "Look Mum - no arms! (or legs for that matter!)"

One year we waited until the mum of the jelly babies went to bed and then set them up on a mock adult film set! She was not impressed.

Naturally I am assuming you took photos - that page would be one funny LO :D

And the suggested Title...... " Jelly Babes do Crop Night..."

What a hoot!

-might have to have hidden journaling for that one though...

Thanks Sandie for the great gastronomic tip..

My tea break today was a taste sensation. Chico babies and banana lollies shoved in together - as instructed. I even got the girl I was working with to leap out of her comfort zone and try it. It was the only smile she cracked all day!

Scrapping will never be the same....\:D/

 I'm back. Lisa, do you know who was the mother of those jelly babies? One guess? And yes - Sandie would eat their arms and legs and put them back!

I've not been getting notified that you guys have posted, via email - must be something to do with the time the site was down.

Sandie, whats in September?

Hi Raels,

You will actually only get an email if there is a response to a topic that you have posted a message in. If you have a look at your profile (the links just under the club logo) there is a check box under preferences that will ensure this happens, it's the third one down. If someone starts a new topic the only way to know is to check the forum itself. That way you have to keep coming back. :D

Aren't you going to lead us in that Sandie? You never know - I might even come early and participate (or at least watch!)
