Well I enjoyed it, but not as much as Wicked. I found Mary to be a little grating at times, her voice was a bit too high and screaching at times - and not just when singing. She was still really good, but just every now and then.... I don't know, she bugged me. She looked brilliant too. Of course it's not fair to compare her to Julie Andrews, but you can't help doing it just a little bit. I thought Matt Lee (is that his name?) was brilliant as were the Banks'. Debra Byrne made me cry with Feed the Birds, but that is my favourite song anyway. Actually the whole cast was fabulous - Mary was probably my least favourite.

I thought it was brilliantly adapted for the stage and the sets were breathtaking. Loved the choreography of Supercali and Step In Time. Found the song with the toys in the nursery a little creepy actually  Overall I enjoyed the added scenes. Very glad I finally got to see it.

Oh and it was my 10 year old nieces' first visit to the theatre and she was absolutely blown away by it all. It was so fun to hear and see her reactions throughout the show :)

I'm glad you had a good time Mel - it is a great production! I agree about the toy section - it is a bit disturbing!

Supercali, Step in Time and Feed the Birds are my favourite scenes from the production too!

Hope you had a great time yesterday Anthony.

You would have almost ran into Della - she took her Mum to Saturday's matinee as it was her Mum's 80th birthday (that's the third time Della has seen it and she said she still loved it!)

Well I'll start by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed it. For entertainment and what stage is all about I think it was a great show. However, I will say that I had to tell myself to forget the story as we knew it and just go along for the ride, and once I did that I was right. The large production items that you have all mentioned were just great and Steps in Time has definitely stood out for me. It was fantastic! Feed the birds is haunting, in a good way, I liked it and I thought they treated it very well in context with the original production, better if anything.
