Would you leave your job and work for Disney?

I was curious as to what it would take for you to leave your job and work for Disney if they ever opened a theme park close to you?

I get paid pretty well for what i do now but I would go back to the salary I had when I left school if I could work full time on any of these:

Tower of Terror.
Haunted Mansion.
Jungle Cruise.
In any of the Art of Disney Stores or the Main St Emporium.
As a Park Tour Guide.

Or if I could be an imagineer design the much rumoured Hollywood Towers hotel or in the WDW Christmas workshop.

Of course I would have to figure out a way to tell my husband my salary just got halved!!!!

I get paid really well at the moment too - but I've almost paid off my house, so by the time a park opened here, I'd well and truly be out of debt and could take a wage hit. I suppose I'd have a look at what opportunities existed working in the park.

I've got a great face for a Tigger suit ...so I don't think I'd ever be Prince Charming! haha.

That said, Disney already have jobs available in Australia in a variety of roles such as Parks and Resorts or Buena Vista Home Entertainment (and until recently at the animation studio), but I've never thought about working for them.

I saw a couple of weeks ago that Tokyo Disneyland were advertising in the Sydney Morning Herald for cast members for all sorts of roles, including performing artists and Disney look-a-likes. They were auditioning in Sydney.

But what job in a park would I like? Definitely a Tour Guide - that would be great. But any job where you can chat to the guests and be happy all day! (Not City Hall - I'd hate to take complaints!)

Every time I go to WDW I do the all day Backstage Magic tour. Last timewe "auditioned" for disney roles and the only one I fit height wise was an ugly stepsister so tigger is not looking too bad!

I don't get paid very much at all but I would take whatever i could get if it meant working in a Disney park. At 6' 4" I'm not going to fit into many costumes but there would have to be something where a knowledge of Disney would get me a job.

The Art Of Disney stores and I would probably pay them.

What I meant was that I would have a coffee with her and empathise with her over her problems and offer support rather than trying to fix things and would listen to her concerns without judging her and would concentrate on her face and her emotions rather than her...

I don't know what the rest of you were thinking.

That's a funny observation! Of course - the life style is different - at the moment I am looking out a dreary window at a dreary day, with a temperature of about 14 degrees at the moment.

Now you guys being north of the border, I am imagining you are sitting on your beach front patio at 29 degrees in your shorts and sunglasses, logging on with your wireless laptop, while sitting under a beach umbrella with a coldie in one hand. Meanwhile, half naked blonde women smile and wave at you as they rollerskate along the beach front with the noise of waves crashing on the white sand just metres away! That's what life is like on the Gold Coast isn't it? I should know - I've seen the TV commercials! Living like that, you guys don't have to worry about liking your job!

Well, it's about 25 degrees, not a cloud in the sky. I've been for a walk and sat by the lake and read the paper. Not many half naked women there but it's certainly warm enough for a lot of them to be wearing not much. Plenty to see around this lake.

It's also shorts and tshirt weather and I just sit out on my back patio with a drink and listen to the breeze in the trees. I actually don't go to the beach as much as I should. The problem is that you're constantly tripping over some snowflake southerner getting a dose of skin cancer.

It's not all roses though. In the next couple of months it will probably get down to about 10 degrees during the day for a week or two.
