I know we've talked about Aulani somewhere on here... but I couldn't find it... maybe we need a new section?

So I'm thinking of doing a quick visit to Aulani on my way back from the US next year ( all dependent on being accepted for a study exchange) but I don't actually know where to start and finding discussions about it are even tougher.

I know Colin has been there and any info would be gratefully accepted.... anyone else been? got any tips on booking and getting there? costs? how long to stay?

Ta :)

I looked at going there, but yes, it was expensive! From people I know who've been though - they say it is brilliant.

Colin has definitely been, not sure about other forum members.

Thanks guys :) yep, I'd heard it was exy... am exploring renting DVC points and other possibilities...

I'm toying with only a couple of nights and the rest of the time in a more 'budget' accom.

Still in the pondering stages, but its somewhere I've wanted to go for a long time.

While I'm over there, I'm planning to do WDW in spring break ( yep, it'll be busy, but I haven't been there so everything I manage to see will be worth it) and then as I won't be flying through LAX, thus missing out on DLR, I thought I could stop over at Hawaii for a week maybe?

Still have to work out if it can be fitted into the budget, but all just speculation at the moment.

I think this is what we'd probably do too.

I figure we'd spend a few days in Honolulu - close to the shopping area - and do all the touristy stuff, Pearl Harbor, Waikiki, Diamond Head etc. And then we'd go to Aulani for the last couple of nights to relax at the resort before heading home.

Yep, exactly what I was thinking Keith... I was thinking I could cram all the 'Disney' moments into two night/days and then finish up with some shopping and touristing.

WDW during Spring break is busy, but manageable. Not as bad as Xmas time, and flower and garden at Epcot is very good. It is a more expensive time though so you'll be paying high season rates.

Anthony is spot on Lisa. Try re-reading my trip report from last year as we were in WDW for the entire spring break period. Yes, it was busy but we never felt uncomfortable with the crowds and still managed to get on everything.

We did have the advantage of being there a long time however so we weren't pressured to do everything in a day.

Oh I'd forgotten that your trip coincided with spring break Keith... will def re-read your trip report.

I will have the spring break time actually as spring break from uni ( dependent on getting accepted to the exchange program) so my dates won't be flexible and am thinking if I do a lot of pre-planning and booking then I should be able to manage it despite it being a bit more exy than I'm used to. I'm aiming to study in Mississippi so I won't likely go through LAX so Disneyland is out logistically, and I refuse to come to the US without a Disney fix.

I'm in full swing planning mode already. Very excited that the flower/garden show will be on then too ajp... always wanted to see that. My time will be fairly limited so it will be a brief intro to the wonder that is WDW.

flower/garden show
You'll love this - it is quite amazing.
(I can't believe it will be one year this weekend since we headed off on our big trip!)

I know Keith. I said something about our trip last year the other day, and I was quickly reminded that it was 2 years ago we were there.
