Any scotch drinkers?

Postby Mel » Thu Sep 29, 2011 10:07 pm

The bottom just fell out of the box of Johnny Walker Green Label I'd bought for my brother for his birthday and it shattered. After I finished crying, I spent half an hour picking the kids toys out of it, mopping the floor dry, wet mopping it and the house still smells like a distillery. Yuk. The boys will get drunk when they walk out into the lounge room tomorrow. And now I have to replace it...this is going to be the most expensive birthday present I've ever bought :(

While I'm no scotch drinker but I feel your pain! Only last week the bottom fell out of my Vietnamese Pork Roll paper bag and I lost my lunch (in the nicest way possible) in the middle of Strathfield  (Sorry Mel hardly on the same scale)

I too have had similar experiences (not on a Johnny Walker Green scale) - but I can share that sinking feeling as you can see the object dropping in slow motion and know you can't do anything about it.

In a few years time, you'll look back and laugh about it and say "remember that year when..." - small consolation though at the moment!

Keith, the slow mo thing is exactly what happened! There was even a moment when it hit the tiles when I thought it would hold, then....

Ah well. Feeling better about it today and I'm sure I'll eventually get over it. On the bright side, it wasn't a gold or blue :)

Beth, love that you 'lost your lunch' Well, not that you did but... well you know what I mean :)

I'm more of a tequila girl myself but the hip pocket nerve twitched when you mentioned the need to replace the bottle... I must admit to giggling when I read that your house smelled like a distillery though .... at the time, I'd just gotten home from work and thought how nice sitting in that room would be at that point....

I wonder what would happen if you were breathalysed after sitting in the room for awhile. I can imagine the coppers reaction when you rolled down the window and he got a whiff!
