I notice that no one has suggested an Australian for me to try to meet. Come on, there must be some worthy Aussies out there.

oops... I was going to do that...

so many notable Aussies spring to mind, but the great majority of them are not of the living variety these days.

ok, just a few:

* Dick Smith ( Businessman/adventurer/philanthropist/larriken - not sure how you spell that )
* Geoffrey Blainey ( Historian) who I have had the pleasure(?) to have been lectured at ( and yes, I mean 'at') and met... still to this day do not agree with some of his biased view of Australian history.
* Thomas Keneally
* Paul Hogan ( seeing as he's stuck here a while and all.... :P )
* Barry Humphries
* Baz Luhrmann
* Dame Joan Sutherland - La Stupenda
* Richie Benaud ( one I'd like to add to my own list)
* Ita Buttrose
* Rolf Harris
* Angry Anderson ( musician/social worker)
* Tan Le ( young Australian of the year 1998)
* Judith Wright ( poet)

Hmmm...

Dick Smith is one I hadn't thought of and will be adding to my list.

Before he came out with "Australia" I probably would have added Baz Luhrmann.

About the only other one I might add is Rolf Harris. I can remember watching him on TV as a kid (in NZ) and hanging out for the part when he painted.

Some more Australian suggestions

John Singleton
Paul Keating
Alan Bond
The guy who started Billabong clothing
The people who run the place at Cameron's Corner
The Mayor of Coober Peedy
Bob Brown, Green Senator
Marcos Ambrose
Wally Lewis. This would be fascinating given his legend status in Rugby League, he raised a deaf daughter, has a son making a name for himself acting and has survived a brain tumor.
Andrew Daddo - The best travel presenter to be on Australian TV

I like the idea of Richie Beneaud Lisa
2023 Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines - Disney Wish. Going to be awesome to be back!
