Google Streetview Car

On Christmas eve, I happened to end up following the Google Streetview car through Riverwood. Here is the picture I took:

What a horrible job it must be driving up and down every single street. I couldn't think of anything worse. Great find and cool pic.

what I want to know is... how did you know it was the google car? did it have a big GOOGLE on the side or something? cos if I saw a car with a contraption on the top like that and nothing else remarkable about it, I'd have paid it little attention...

what I want to know is... how did you know it was the google car?
I didn't notice a Google sticker on the side, but I'm a geek who likes these things and I've looked at plenty of pictures of Google Streetview cars online :)

A couple of weeks ago, Google announced they were back in Sydney from November to March to take some higher definition photos. The first pass two years ago was pretty low-res when compared to the newer technology they are employing (just look at the Canada and England Streetview pictures) so they are updating the Australian imagery.

Yep - I cannot imagine a more tedious job than driving around all the streets with nowhere to go!

I have seen it a couple of times recently. It must be doing the St George/Bankstown/Sutherland area.
