Whats the sitch?

Postby mushu mama » Thu Sep 11, 2008 11:09 am

Good grief.... a girl loses her internet connection ( and yes, I'm still waiting for them to connect it again  ) and I manage a visit and there is Animal husbandry on the front page ( can NOT believe no one commented on that one  ) and still no finished trip report of Sandies.

One good thing though... I'm getting to spend more time at the beach and reading than I've done in a loooong time. I've powered through 2 books already :D

and no one noticed I wasn't around :?: ... I really need to get more of a life... huh? -/

I agree I thought the animal husbandry story was unusual, but there were other stories as well. I must admit being very impressed about the father and son being swept out to sea and surviving the night. Amazing stuff. But on the other hand, what were the beach patrol doing to react so slowly, our guys would not have let them go so long, and how lazy are their sharks! They would have been dinner and toothpicks in that time down here.

I wouldn't say we didn't notice you missing Lisa, because it has been so slow around here anyway. I just thought it was a lull. Greg and Mel and sometimes Beth have been keeping the end up a little.

So what books are they? You're not into the new vampire series as well are you? Twilight or something like that. My daughter has started them and Ros has as well, they've gone mad with them. The new Harry Potter they're calling them.

Oooh - I've seen some advertisements for them - I might have to pick one up.

I might give the first one a go and see what it's like but it better not be too "Anne Rice", I was never impressed with hers.

Now that you boys have expressed an interest, I'd better add a little more information on those books, and this is only the review from the girls of the house. I've been told that they're aimed specifically at teenage girls, bit like a real sappy chick flick in writing. Now I'm partial to chick flicks, sometimes, so if you get half way through and find yourself saying things like "like, you know" and "eeeewwww" then don't come running to me.

Wow Keith... your ears are good man....

Yep, I do have those books in my hot little hands ...BUT I still haven't even opened the front cover. I bought the series for my daughter for her birthday next month and don't think it'd be fair to hand her books that I thought I'd read first.

Nope... seeing as I am still internet less and will be a while longer  I've been wading my way through another fantasy series that my daughter owns that I'd been meaning to read but hadn't thanks to the internet.

Who else has read the twilight series? ( no spoilers please)
