Desert island movies.

Postby calisota » Tue Sep 02, 2008 7:11 pm

If you were about to be marooned on the clichéd desert island and could only take 3 dvd's with you of the ones that you own, which would they be? Remember that they would have to hold up to multiple viewings.

Having a look mine would be...

Lord of the Rings
Terminator 2
Casablanca

Blimey...

only 3?

I managed to convince the stern arms-akimbo NZ lady at the airport that my 12kg carry on was ok to take onboard so, perhaps I could smuggle a few more on that island?

OH... OK... I'll try and narrow it down. :?

It's only 3 so that you have to really give it some thought and be ruthless. They would have to be a special 3 if you were going to watch them continuously until you had made a rope out of your hair to lasso a couple of passing sea turtles.

I love never Been Kissed - I think it has the best movie kiss in it (the worst being the horse like one at the end of Pretty Woman!) It is the movie I watched when I am feeling down - and I guess I would be down if I was stranded all alone on an island

Never been kissed is a wicked movie...

I've got that too.

Another Drew Barrymore comedy. About a geeky girl journalist that reinvents herself and goes back to highschool to do an expose.
The kiss, when it happens is worth the wait....

Gone with the Wind is okay, although I preferred the book to the movie.
The Shawshank Redemption is a classic movie (to follow my rating system) so a good choice.
The only decent movies that Drew Barrymore has done are 50 First dates and Boys on the Side, but she was part of an ensemble in that one.

50 first dates is one I wasn't so fussed about... I wanted her to get her memory back. :?

Me too - but you said movies not books! I first read GwtW when I was home sick at 112. I have read it every September since as well as Scarlett when it came out. Although Rhetts Butlers People was much better than Scarlett so it will be added to the annual read as well!
