Google Map

With all the messages about where we've all been and where we all want to go I thought I'd try something. I've set up a google map that we can put markers in to show where we've been. I figured it would be interesting to see just how well travelled this group is and to see how many of us have been to the same places. The fact that so many of us seem to have been to San Francisco is amazing in the bigger scheme of things. I've started it off by putting a red pin on the Gold Coast to show where I live and I'll start adding destinations as time permits. I'm figuring that there are going to be a lot of pins in Disneyland.

Just post a "yes, count me in" message here and I'll drop you an invite so you can contribute if you want to.

Basically when you pull the map up, following the link in the email, click the "edit" button on the left hand side and a few new icons will appear in the top left hand corner of the map. One of them is a pin icon. Click that and then click where you want to put it in the map.

Heh, heh, never thought of that. But it's not a competition, just an interesting way of seeing who has been where and if we get really carried away it would be a cool way to show a few photos and things of non Disney places in the context of where they were taken.

Sounds like a good plan Greg. I've got a good photo of the Lone Pine used in the logo by Pebble Beach golf course, which I'm rather fond of. And a great shot of the half dome as well.

I've gone in and added some myself. Got a little carried away, but I think it's good for us to show some of the landmarks and interesting places as well we've seen. Also, I hope no-one minds, but what I've done is double up in the text of a pin. Like in DL for example, I just put our dates on the pin that Mel made, just saves having a gaggle of pins in one spot.

There's a box on the left which lists all of the pins. Top right hand corner of that box is the EDIT option. It took me a while to find it too.
