Great photos! I'm thinking of not taking any because firstly it will be 3am and I can't take photos of fireworks so I can only imagine the shot I would get and I don't want to see the launch through a camera. I will buy some official NASA photos!

OH Beth... :o How can you not try a few photos... night shots should be spectacular... what sort of camera do you have? when I am shooting fireworks, I put mine on sports mode and just hold the shutter down and let it take a dozen photos in quick succession. You can't help but get some good shots then.
This might not be the 'right' way to take them, but it works.

Course, I do see your point of it being over so fast, you might not want to watch through the viewfinder.
I wouldn't be able to help myself.... I'd take a few quick shots then put the camera down so I had the chance to watch as well.

PS: Great shots guys...

I will also have difficulty seeing through the tears! I'm going to be an emotional wreck on this trip!

Yep - too true! I was so caught up watching it rise into the air that I forgot to take photos - hence in my picture, the rocket had practically disappeared!

I wish I was heading over there with you Beth - it is going to be an amazing trip. Your little cruise ship is getting closer and closer!!

As you all know only too well it is hard to focus on the other day to day activities of life! The planning has been consuming so much time (happily by choice) that I wonder what I will do with myself when I am back!

Well it appears buying tickets for viewing the launch from the KSC causeway is like making an ADR at Cinderella's Table - they sell out in a few minutes! Very stressful! :?
