that sounds wicked Sandie....

I hadn't been out in weeks and weeks but tried a new pub with some friends ( it was so-so) and got subjected to a star trek movie on the plasma afterwards because I stupidly asked what a klingon was (is that how you spell it?) and if Spock was a Vulcan - where were the rest of the pointy eared ones? and it turned out to be ok.... well... it must be an aquired taste... nothing nearly as interesting as Stargate but good for a laugh.... I've used the ol' Beam me up Scotty a million times but never heard it before so we roared with laughter at some of the lines.... But the whales looked fantastic on the big screen, so that was a bonus.

Late night and now I have to go to work.... sigh..... :? no rest for the wicked I guess.

Went to a new church service at our church and met a couple who have some interesting contacts. They attended a wedding in the states last year for a son/nephew whose father-in-law is a Disney animator. They went to his house and it was covered in original Lion King cils etc I have a feeling she said his name was Tony Bancroft and they said they were still in contact with him.

Then she said her sister used to be the Australian representative for the Disney Animation studios in Australia and that she had to be Sleepy for a month for her - this I did not have time to clarify but I asked if she thought her sister would like to come and talk to the club.

I'll be following this one up!

The Tony Bancroft??

Tony was the co-director of Mulan, as well as the supervising animator for Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast, Iago in Aladdin, Pumbaa in The Lion King, Kronk in TENG.

The seismologist??

Just joking :) I don't know him! However if the reclaimed land breaks away and floats into Tokyo Harbour during an earthquake, we now know who to blame ;)

No no (at least I don't think so!) I was just playing off the "The Tony Bancroft!" quote from the post before. :)

Collapsed on the lounge after running the book stall at the school fete. Not one disney book to be found - that's the only reason I do this every year!

just getting in early ...

Heading out to dinner with friends ( probably nothing more exciting than the RSL) and then the womenfolk will be adjourning to a friends place to watch BLUE LAGOON on the massive plasma, when the aforementioned swooning middle aged women will relive their crush on Christopher Atkins ... with a BLUE LAGOON 2 chaser.... should be a good ( and late) night. Lots of chocolate, popcorn ( even though I hate it), abundant coke and jaffas for rolling down the livingroom floor towards the screen in lieu of an aisle.

Now does that rank up there with the 'Beaches' incident?

Followed by said carload of women driving to Brisbane to the Paper craft fair the next morning and then quite possibly leaving an obscene amount of money behind.

Just have to live through two more days of work... :?

Now that would have been worth doing... hubba hubba, he was HOT as....

Course the passage of time hasn't been so kind to him.... I'm going to enjoy his heyday again though ... on the big screen... might have to go make another round of Blue Lagoon drinks when Brookie comes on screen though  Can do without the reminder that I am not that age anymore.
