Aside from the football and motor racing, we are halfway through the Star Wars trilogy squared. We've done Episodes 1,2 and 3 so far. I had forgotten how good they are. It also makes me excited about the upcoming changes to Star Tours as well.

Just bought the first series of "Big bang theory" on the weekend, along with "Miss Potter". Love Miss Potter and am working my way through Big Bang. I'm a late comer to this show.

Glenda came back from Bali on Monday and has copy of every movie I missed and wanted to see in the last 6 mths (including some current ones). So I know what I'll be doing this Easter.

BB theory rocks... love that show. Miss Potter - is that the one about Beatrix? I've seen that and loved it.

Yep, thats where the pile of DVD's came from we were watching - a friends recent trip to Bali.

Think I might be spending Easter working at this stage. :? with some chocolate thrown in of course.

I'm so far behind watching DVDs that it's not funny. I'm not watching any DVD movies until I finish watching the entire Battlestar Galactica series that I bought on Bluray, but that has also been delayed with all the good TV shows on free-to-air at the moment!

Raided a friends DVD stash this weekend and have seen lots of movies I've been wanting to see for ages.

First off was '2012' - now that was kind of scary... enjoyed it though... (as long as they ARE building ships as we speak. ) 3 stars - lost one cos I dont want the world to end in 2012

then 'The Time Travellers Wife' - which was good but don't watch if you are going to be distracted by ANYTHING cos its tough to follow in spots. Only just 3 stars

Then 'The Ugly Truth' - LOVED this... definitely going to be getting that DVD one day. 4 and a titch stars... funny as

then 'The Proposal' - I saw this in the cinema but watched it again cos its so dang funny. 3 3/4 stars.

and the cherry on top.... NEW MOON ( twice) - brilliant. 4 stars.

stay tuned, I'm not even half way through the stack

What's everyone else been watching?

I saw Avatar on the tiny screen in the seatback on the plane. Will it be worth buying? The problem will be not having a blueray player at the moment to watch it, only this PC monitor. Anyone know if the bluray disk will come with a standard DVD?

Avatar is AWESOME! definitely worth buying, but seeing it on a big screen is by far the best way to watch it - the depth of the animation is amazing. I've only seen it in a single disk DVD so far.

Yeah - I don't think the Bluray is packaged with a DVD (I've only seen Disney do that).

Go and see it on a big screen in 3D while you can Greg - the Bluray/DVD can wait!

Yep, i had a look around today and it's either/or on bluray or DVD. There was a huge difference in price between different places as well so it pays to shop around. BigW had the bluray for $25, which was $10 cheaper than a lot of other places and about the same price as the DVD in some.

It is still showing here in 3D but only the 21.00 session. I probably should make an effort while it's on.

Watched AVATAR again tonight... it does lose a tiny bit of something on the (considerably ) smaller screen but still an awesome movie. Just turn the sound right up and its nearly the same. :D

We have had no interest in seeing Avatar, but a couple of friends said they were the same and LOVED it. Maybe it's worth borrowing and trying to find the time to watch it in our home theatre which is sorely under-used. We have a 3.5m screen in our back room with a projector. It's old so the quality isn't great, but it's still fun to pretend we're at the movies :)

Della was the same - she had NO interest in going to see it...and enjoyed it more than I did :D

As for DVDs - I finished watching the entire series of Battlestar Galactica last night - which means I can finally begin watching my backlog of movies in the coming weeks. I've got about 50 that I've never watched!

Well I decided the boys needed to get a taste of things to come so I put on Disneyland: Secrets, Stories and Magic so they could watch the 1956 (?) doco on Disneyland. They were so good, Ben watched about half an hour of it before getting fidgety (that kid can't watch anything for longer than that!), but Jr is my little Disneynut. He watched the doco from start to finish with me, then I put it back on with the Tony Baxter commentary while I went to put Ben to bed, I came out and Jr is sitting watching avidly, points to the screen and says "Ook!" That's my boy! He's also been following me around with Mickey Mouse In Living Colour and demanding to watch that. So we've watched that, Monsters Inc and Aristocats lately. Just trying to expand their knowledge of Disney and the characters. It's working because Ben asked me if he could see Marie in Disneyland! :)

BTW, I love that Disneyland DVD. I hadn't watched it since I first got it a couple of years ago - well worth dusting off every now and then. :)

Watched a DVD last night that I thought would not be something that was to my taste but was really surprised by how good it was! It was 'Taking of Pelham 123' and while there was more cars, guns, explosions and choppers than I ususally seek out in a movie, I really enjoyed the suspense.

Also watched 'the hangover' again... if you need a laugh... thats always a winner.

I've also been adding to my Disney DVD collection ( I was horrified when my video player died and realised just how many of my favourites I only had on video)... so recently bought and watched, Bugs Life, 101 Dalmations, Toy Story 1 & 2 in their limited ed covers, Cars and Monsters Inc.

And after a long drawn out discussion with my daughter about the merits of the multiple Robin Hood movies over the last 40 odd years, bought the Kevin Costner version and proved my point, that its possibly the best one so far... will be seeing Russ's version ( Millies vote) when it comes out of DVD.

Whats everyone else been watching?

Now that most of my favourite TV shows have come or are coming to an end, I'm starting to catch up on DVDs. Finally got to watch Avatar last weekend. Also recently watched Sherlock Holmes (which was a good surprise to me, I liked it) and the final Bourne movie.

I got the Princess and the Frog on bluray this weekend, so it might get a spin later.
