I had a bit of a DVD binge recently. I had a big backlog of unwatched movies, so I sat down and watched:
Superman Returns
X-Men III
Eragon
Casino Royale (again - but this is because we were going to see Quantum of Solace immediately afterwards)

We watched Taken - very good movie especially since I had low expectations.

Quite apart from the usual glut of Christmas DVD's that I insist on watching prior to the big day, I have been catching up on the movies that I've been wanting to see for ages.

Today's tally was Caspian (again) and 'A Good Year'... which I absolutely loved... now I NEED to move to Provence.... :? and I want that motorbike....

I introduced Eloise to Beaches and Pretty Woman tonight.
You should have invited Anthony over - he likes Beaches.

I haven't replied to this earlier because I've been trying to come up with some witty retort, but I haven't been able to. All I'll say is that this was a good line Keith, and some good responses.

But one thing Sandie didn't say was whether her and Eloise were bawling at the end - not that I would know why of course - I've just heard things, you know .....

That's okay - you can save it up for the next time that I admit to liking a girly movie...

Anyway, back on topic - I watched the DVD of Ironman last night with Robert Downey Jr. Not a bad superhero movie. Once again it is a bit along the lines of the new Batman series whereby it is technology and training, rather than any mystical or otherworldly power, that creates the superhero.

I finally saw Get Smart today.... what a hoot.... I loved it.
Despite it being set in present day, its so faithful to the show that it was an absolute crack up.
Thats one that I will be buying for my collection.

Anyone else seen it?

Ok, thought I'd resurrect this thread cos I've seen some great movies lately.

I rarely get a weekend day off so when I had this last Sunday off my daughter decided to borrow the entire second series of True Blood from a friend and we'd have a whole day of Vampirific horror....
Which we did... and it was as shockingly creepy as the first series ... and it took us ALL day!

The worst part of the whole performance was that the friend had scratched the last disc badly so it skipped too much to watch so we still haven't seen the ending.... Arrrrrh!

We also watched 'What happens in Vegas' ( at least twice) and 'Defintely Maybe' the night before to ease into the movie day ahead with some chick flicks.

Am going to borrow 'The Hangover' this weekend to watch with a bunch of friends ... everyone tells me its a hoot.

What has everyone else been watching?
