Wish I was a panel beater after that race in Adelaide yesterday :)

Wasn't it action packed. Jason bright sure was sent on a decent flight and flip. Red Bull whinging was rife wasn't it? I thought honestly the penalty was fair.

Me too - there was no way the controller was just pointing at the damage - blind freddy could see that he was helping with the tape and that is a big no-no.

Keith, I assume that you're aware of the engine homologation drama unfolding in the V8SuperCircus, and I'm interested to know your thoughts. It's all around the centre of gravity which has been caused by the need of the new manufacturers to add ballast to their engines because they are lighter.

My thoughts are twofold here. Why do these cars have to be dictated to where they add the ballast. They are being penalised for having and using better technology so why not allow them to be smart about it. Also, why didn't Ford and Holden dip into the parent manufacturers parts bin and source aluminum blocks, which I'm sure they have somewhere around the world, and get them homologated, and then they would be able to fight on an even playing field to everyone else, and they wouldn't need to complain about lack of parity?

I fear it's back to the future at the moment, and it's always a Holden team in the middle of it. Group A became extinct because Nissan, Volvo and Mazda started racing superior cars so the rules were changed to favour the only V8 powered car at the time, a Holden. Now they want to fight technology and modern engineering again and nobble the opposition who are clearly competing well and beating them.

I couldn't agree more Anthony. Personally I'm against any form of parity adjustments to even fields in motor racing - you might as well just have a single make series where the best driver wins, not the best car/driver/team combination. I think V8 Supercars has already gone too far down the path of a sillouette series (just like Nascar) and yes - Holden are always at the centre of any whining.

Shouldn't it be up to the other manufacturers to improve their game and technology rather than re-write the rules if they are competing as well? Isn't that the basis of 'competition'?? Continuously iImproving all aspects of your own technology and team? Isn't that why we also like underdogs - those teams with smaller budgets who develop something new and start winning?

Lobbying to tweak the rules isn't competition - its bad sportsmanship; it is an admission the other side is better than you and you no longer have fresh ideas.

Hey AJP - how good is Frosty doing this year? I've been concerned by the pace of the Redbulls in pre-season, but they just can't pull it together consistently week to week, whereas Frosty is scoring high each weekend. His performance in NZ this weekend were terrific.

So far so good. FPR are known for losing the plot mid season, so hopefully they don't follow the same path this year. I really hope that Frosty turns it around and finally wins that elusive championship. Bathurst and title double would be awesome! I didn't see any racing this weekend, too busy, but I've read all the reports. I am really excited about both the Red Bull cars just being part of the pack consistently. Let's hope they stay there!

What's your thoughts on Penske possibly buying into the championship next year? I personally think it will be a good thing. So long as he doesn't run Holdens :) . If he buys DJR, I think that will be a good result for all parties.

The purchase of DJR is definitely the most quoted outcome. I think they said they'd make an announcement sometime around the Indy 500 weekend as to what their intentions are. Penske runs Fords in Nascar now after moving from Dodge, so I think he'd definitely be looking to run Fords here and DJR is a ready-made team who would welcome the investment.

My sister and nephew bought me an awesome present for my birthday recently. I got a 2 day pass to Eastern Creek round, going with my nephew. I'm looking forward to it, just to get to a track again!

Haha, I just read the previous comments, and it did rain at Eastern Creek!

Bathurst this weekend, the track is producing some awesome times and there are already some different cars up front. Looking forward to the traditional weekend and early start Sunday!

One thing we haven't discussed. Finally the prodigal is returning home and we will see Marcos Ambrose finally proving how good Jamie Whincup isn't!

It is going to be brilliant isn't it?! Can't wait to see Marcos again at the pointy end of the field. It'll be interesting to see how he goes after so long out of V8s.

Did you see that Ford are withdrawing funding after next year? An end of a long era...
