I did catch that headline as we rushed out the door this morning. A big loss in the automotive world but his legacy will be alive for many generations to come. The AC cobra is legendary and I love the Shelby Mustangs too, especially the way that customers can customize them too. Didn't a Shelby built Ford win Le Mans in the 60s? Remember the XA and XB Cobra? RIP Carroll Shelby, imagine the convoy They could put together in his honour.

Shelby himself won Le Mans in 1959 driving an Aston Martin.

He was also a lead engineer on the design of the classic Ford GT40 that won at Le Mans four times straight - 1966 to 1969 (although strictly speaking, it never carried the Shelby name).

Woohoo that's great news. I haven't been across any racing this weekend including V8 and the All Star race.

No foxtel

But The GP will be on ONE, and the internet will be used to follow the others. Although Charlotte will likely be on ONE too perhaps.

Wasn't sure whether to put this here or on the DCL upgrades thread, and here won!

Frosty is heading over to be part of the Carsland opening celebrations, with Jeff Gordon, but this article is more about him going to watch Marcos at Sonoma.

Good to see Marcos going B2B at Watkins Glen, although he fought hard, but an awesome last few laps to finish the race with. Gotta give to Brad Keselowski and Kyle Bush (even though I hate Kyle Bush), they sure can steer. Fingers crossed he can jag another win and get a wildcard chase spot.

That was a fantastic race - and those last laps were edge of the seat stuff.

Great to see him win - just a shame there aren't a few more road courses in the year.

It's monotonous isn't it? Ford have fast cars but more problems than a new release Commodore always knocks them out of the race. The Holden teams then find ways of all of a sudden getting to the front. David Reynolds has been showing this form all year, he has always been strong and in the top 10, it didn't surprise me to see him up there, just wish he would have made the lunge!

Poor Marcos too!

Yep - he made a great showing most of the race, and then to get caught up in the big-one on the last corner while up near the front was just sad to see.
