I am re-reading Sho-gun. I read it when I was 13 and had a sudden urge to re-read it, it took me forever to find a copy though.

As mentioned on another thread I have just read the Outlander series and am now listening to the audio books.

I also read The Scarlet Pimpernel while waiting for the next lot of CDs from the States. The only thing I knew about this book was that he was incognito. But was superised that this was really a 'chick book' and thinly written. I enjoyed it but I scratched my head at its success. Isn't this consider a classic? Perhaps he was the first of the superheros.

I don't watch much TV and I don't Facebook.

this is the perplexing thing... I don't watch much TV and only the occasional movie each week. my FB time is also quite short each day cos I don't play any of the FB games either. My commute to work is a whole 7 minutes ( 10 if I get stuck behind pensioners) and the rest of the time I am dealing with teenagers and their angst...

oh... wait a minute.... think I have it... I spend an INORDINATE amount of time planning, shopping for and doing scrapbooking.... problem solved...alas, it seems to be an addiction that has no end.

I have an addiction too Lisa. When that sun is shining on my balcony I can not resist my sun lounge, a cappuccino and a book - only a tsunami could move me! (don't look too closely at my housework)

I have to read before I go to sleep. I just don't seem to be able to go to sleep as fast if I don't, probably because it's a way to turn off the real world before I try to switch the brain off.

The only problem is that my library (something like 1500 books) is in storage and I'm living out of a suitcase but being a geek I'm doing all my reading on an ipod. I have about 150 books on it at the moment.

Speaking of reading on electronic devices, does anybody have an e-reader? I have read reviews of the iPad which say it gets difficult to read on it after a long time. My commute to work (when I eventually go back - I've only worked 10 months in the past 3.5 years - and they still insist on paying me.... :D ) will be 1.5hrs each way so I usually read or knit. I was thinking an iPad would be handy because I can use it for music as well as books, but if it's going to strain my eyes after an hour or so...
Anyway, ideas and opinions will be much appreciated.

A friend of mine got a job with a commute as well and she ended up getting an Ipod. Don't be put off by the small size of the screen, it's remarkably easy to read on and it's overall size is it's greatest asset. Easy to hold if you have to stand, no one else can see what you're reading and it can be stored in your pocket.
