Now onto The Princess Warrier by Barbara Erskine - she is one of my top three authors.

I don't get much opportunity to read, but I purchased 2 books recently. The first which I have started is Creating Magic: 10 Common Sense Leadership Strategies from a Life at Disney by Lee Cockerell. So far I am inspired. I got this because I read a review of it on Jim Hill and his philosophy is similar to my own approach to work and life, so I wanted to explore it more. So far so good ...

The second is doing the rounds at home and it is a sequel to a previous book I mentioned in the book section. It's called the Kindom Keepers Disney at Dawn by Ridley Pearson. This second book is set in the Animal Kingdom, and I'm looking forward to the read, even though I won't have a clue about the settings (at least the first was set in Magic Kingdom, which is similar to Disneyland).
2023 Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines - Disney Wish. Going to be awesome to be back!

I was sad to hear about the passing of Michael Crichton today. He is one of a few authors that I read every book from. I discovered his work after first seeing The Andromeda Strain movie on TV when I was about ten. I loved the technology feel of the film and immediately borrowed the book from the local library - and was totally hooked. I think it was the first adult novel I ever read.

Of course, Crichton just didn't write books, he also directed movies including the great classic sci-fi film - Westworld with Yul Brynner, and B-Grade medical film "Coma" with a young Michael Douglas (based on the novel by Robin Cook). He also wrote and directed the pilot episode of ER - which I still regard as one of the best TV-pilots ever.

Most non-fans know him for the author of Jurassic Park, but there are other great novels (some of which were made into not-so-great films) including Congo, The Terminal Man, Prey, The Lost World, Timeline, Disclosure, and Rising Sun.

If you haven't read any of these books, I highly recommend you track them down (especially if you are geeky-nerdy...)

Yep, The Andromeda Strain was the first book of his that I read as well. I stumbled across it in the school library and was hooked.

I'm nearly finished book 3 (Eclipse) of the Twilight series.... suddenly I love the whole vampire/werewolf thing... can't put them down.
I've also started "Eat, Pray, Love" which is also a great read so far.
Looks like I'm outnumbered - I haven't read those books, but have watched Jurassic Park - does that count?

I'm almost finished the Twilight series now... 2/3rds of the way through the 4th book and I can hardly put it down. I absolutely loved these books.
It won't be long before I'll have to find myself something else to read...

Both my kids have just had their birthdays too so now I can actually think about Christmas but am still resisting the urge to read the catalogues. My daughter on the other hand has the pen out circling anything she might be remotely interested in as a gift ... just in case... Sheesh....

I finished the Twilight series today.... I wasn't intending to but when I got so close to the end I just couldn't stop myself from finishing it off. when I read "the end" I think I might even have said out loud... "noooooo"... how sad is that? :D

The last two chapters alone made me wish there were going to be more. Fascinating story telling ... loved it..

what on earth am I going to read now I am wondering? Any suggestions ( no blood/guts/gore/war/politics stories thanks) and I'm sorry but they simply have to have that 'happily ever after' or I won't even pick them up.

Finished the Lee Cockerall book and have just started a bio on Walt. It's called The Real Walt Disney by Leonard Mosley. Quite interesting so far.

I'm currently working through Jeremy Clarkson's latest book - very funny in that cynical way of his.

Prior to that, I had just finshed Plague Ship from Clive Cussler.
