Pirates by 2010 and Haunted Mansion Rumour

In his new column, over at MiceAge, Al Lutz mentions the possiblity of the famous ride being opened by 2010.

So, we have another rumour supported, this time, by some facts. Al's timing seems to be about right, and it makes good marketing sense. The timetable and schedule - in combination with the existing construction in the park - would seem to indicate that this is definitely a possibility.

Rumours of a Pirates of the Caribbean event in May this year have been all over the 'Net this week, so we decided to contact Disney and find out what exactly was going on. Now, thanks to Disney Publicity, HKDL Source has this EXCLUSIVE statement from the Publicity Director of Hong Kong Disneyland about the pirates themed events and Adventureland Pirates overlay!

The plan is to see "total entertainment experience. We will be reviewing everything from décor, music, streetmosphere, characters meet and greet, merchandise, food and beverage as well as creating interactive and surprising elements for guests and getting them involved and engaged. There will be suitable pirates’ related elements at our hotel as well."
