According to this article below, Hong Kong Disneyland cast members have been told to expect the arrival of Duffy in their park this Christmas.

Looks like Duffy is taking over from Mickey as the most popular of merchandising fluffies around the world - I guess everyone has a Mickey these days...

Duffy has a new friend in Hong Kong - meet Cookie, the cookie baking dog :) Exclusive (for now) to Hong Kong Disneyland!

There is also a new Duffy friend appearing soon exclusively in Aulani - so watch out for that one in the coming weeks...

Cookie is adorable, are these characters getting cuter with each release?  I tried to teach my sister about Duffy and friends in Tokyo; after reading up on them and now seeing Cookie she is looking to purchase the whole gang on her next trip!

Qantas had return flights to Hong Kong on sale last week for $650 - Della was very tempted to book a ticket just to get Cookie...but in the end, calmer heads prevailed!

Go on, admit it. You were tempted there for a moment. :-)

Meanwhile 'Olu the turtle is being released at Aulani as I type this.  I am surprised how fast Cookie and 'Olu have come out since Stella Lou.  They seem like quick releases considering the time between the first 3.

Keith - are you stopping in Hawaii on the way to or from the mainland USA?  May be worth it....

Haha - no, we aren't going via Hawaii (although I'm sure it has crossed Della's mind).  We are thinking of heading to Hong Kong next year for a quick visit...

We are also surprised by the release of Cookie and Olu straight after Stella.  The cynical side of me thinks it is Disney trying to encourage big-spending Japanese 20-somethings to head to Hong Kong and Aulani...get them spending money in the other parks rather than just in Japan (which mostly goes to the Oriental Land Company rather than Disney...)

Ah, that makes sense. I was wondering why Aulani and Hong Kong were suddenly doing the releases.  I have no doubt Della is working out great reasons for a sudden change to the flight home.
Next year could be a quieter year to save for me (as I sit here wondering what cheap flights may come out), however I'm hoping 2020 will be Hong Kong & Shanghai during the Lunar New Year celebrations Year of the Rat (my year) so thought it a great opportunity for a first visit to both parks.

2020 sounds like a good year for you to travel to those parks :)

I think next year will be a quiet travel year for us too - Della's Mum is getting frail so I don't think we'll spend much time out of Sydney.  It might be a good year for us to work on some house renovations instead of travelling (and maybe a short trip to Hong Kong or something!)
