HKDL and the 2007 Special Olympics

TV Week reports that Hong Kong Disneyland will give the Hong Kong athletes competing in the 2007 Special Olympics a welcome home celebration in the park.

Stanley Cheung, executive vice president and managing director of the Walt Disney Co., Greater China has commented: “We are delighted to actively support the Special Olympics World Games 2007 through the participation of our Disney VoluntEARS...This is a great opportunity to reach out to the local community, and as a company we are proud to be able to make a difference.”

Other Disney-sponsored activities to coincide with the Special Olympics in 2007 will include:

* The screening of the Opening Ceremony on ABC Family

* A Special Olympics World Games page on ESPN.com

* Appearances by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, who, along with Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto, who will join the athletes and child representatives from the region at the Closing Ceremony of the Games

Good!!!!!!!! Maybe I'll start forgiving Disney soon - Not enough is done for the Special Olympians anywhere in the world!
