Problem with Hilton booking?

Postby Mel » Sat Jun 20, 2009 2:40 pm

I know a few of you have booked the 18 000 Yen room through Hilton UK before so I thought this was the best place to ask the question. I just logged onto their website to check my reservation for next year and I got a message saying that my reservation had been cancelled  I have never cancelled my booking, I haven't even been back to the website since I made the reservation last year, so it looks like they've cancelled it for me  I've sent them an email asking them to re-instate it, but I don't know how successful I'll be. Have any of you encountered this problem in the past? The going rate now for the week we will be there is 56 000 Yen/night  It would be cheaper to stay at the Mira Costa! If we can't retrieve this reservation, there is little chance we'll be going to Tokyo next year :(

Hey Mel. I think there is something wrong with their new website.

My booking was fine but when I just went to their updated website and went into the My Bookings page and put in my confirmation number - it gave me a cancellation confirmation advice as well - grrrrr... I think they've got the backend of the website screwed up.

Did the Hilton site send you the cancellation email as well? I never got one.

I've emailed the Tokyo Bay Hilton front desk on a number of occasions and they have always been very good. I've just dropped them a line.

No I never got the cancellation email Keith, even though that cancellation message said that they emailed me. So, did you not email Hilton UK? Did you email straight through to the Tokyo Bay Hilton?

This whole thing gave me nightmares last night, as we turned up to the hotel and were laughed at and turned away :( I don't think I should eat ice cream before bed either

I just emailed the Tokyo Bay front desk - I still just think it is a website problem. The front desk usually get back pretty quickly, so hopefully I'll have a reply today and I'll be able to let you know this evening.

Thanks Keith. The UK website answered today and all they said is that they'd forwarded my email on to the Tokyo Bay Hilton anyway :)

Sandie, I'd love to, but the Hilton have re-instated my booking at the rate quoted, which is about a third of the Mira Costa. Maybe one day :)

Yep - they fixed me up too (and were very apologetic!)
