Keeping in mind that this was 1999 and things might have changed.

Name of Hotel: Tokyo Hilton

Price you paid for room: free ( I won the trip :) )

Was this price high season/low season? we were there low season

Hotel Amenities (Restaurants, pools, Internet, etc):Several restaurants, a pool ( which was closed for maintanence) a games arcade ( which was pretty cool), a Disney store and lots of other shops, brilliant bar/lounge areas on the top most floor with a view of Mt Fuji (on a clear day) and of the harbour on one side and TDL on the other.

Room Amenities (bar fridge, room safe, LCD/CableTV, etc):Bar fridge, subtitled TV, Drinking water dispenser, Kettle, 3 green tea bags( yes - 3), Mini bar with lots of Disney stuff - including Disney disposable cameras, Disney chips, all the usual alcohol and chocolate. Probably one of the best Bathrooms I've encountered - smallish but with great 'stuff' like Hilton toothbrushes, combs, tiny toothpaste tubes etc.

Onsite/offsite: Offsite - in the days before Disneysea.

Transportation to parks available: yep, free shuttle that ran pretty regularly.

What you liked: The view of the park and the fireworks out our window, The view over Tokyo from the bar on the roof. The tiny toothpaste tubes :) and the Kimonos that were provided rather than the usual robes. The Disney store in the basement. The traditional Japanese screens that slid across the windows instead of curtains.

What you didn't like: having to share a king single bed with a 5 year old night after night. The beds were classed as double but were no bigger than any largish single bed IMHO. We had two of those beds for the four of us. :( and while it didn't help our quality of sleep, it was after all, free.

Would you stay here again: probably not - but more for the expense than anything.

Lisa's review above is pretty close to the mark! Here is my review.

Name of Hotel: Tokyo Bay Hilton (http://www.hilton.co.uk/tokyobay)

Price you paid for room: 21,000yen per night including breakfast - 15 nights (about $3,200 in total) - room only can be as cheap as 18,000yen a night (if you know how to book!) Can get as high as 50,000yen ($500) a night for a standard room depending on time of year.

Was this price high season/low season? Early April is shoulder - high season begins Golden week - end of April.

Hotel Amenities (Restaurants, pools, Internet, etc): Amazing restaurant area (The Square) which also served a full buffet breakfast. Starbucks in the lobby. Internet kiosk (or in room internet if you bring a laptop - neither are free). Disney Store, arcade, some boutique shops, small pharmacy (which we needed to cold tablets). Convenient shipping service to send stuff home (which we also needed).

Room Amenities (bar fridge, room safe, LCD/CableTV, etc): Bar fridge, safe, robes, magic mirror, sky painted ceiling, great bathroom with freebies, kettle but only green-tea (buy coffee at the supermarket!), LCD TV - but only CNN in English. We had a Happy Magic Room, hence the magic mirror and other fantasy touches - we loved it! View of the park. Rooms VERY quiet!

Onsite/offsite: Hotel is located within the Tokyo Disney Resort area.

Transportation to parks available: Shuttle bus to monorail station, then monorail to the parks or shopping areas. The hotel is adjacent to the monorail station, so you'd only take the bus if it was pelting down rain.

What you liked: Great English speaking staff. Starbucks - when you need that coffee hit!. Location, location, location. The Happy Magic Room. Sound proofing. Shipping service. The breakfast! Disney ticket office in the lobby.

What you didn't like: Our room was a little warm at the beginning of the stay - but we cracked open the window to fix that - we put it down to the renovations on our floor and it was fixed by about day 5.

Would you stay here again: Absolutely - I'm already looking at prices!

Name of Hotel:
Sheraton Grande, Tokyo Bay

Price you paid for room: Y16,000 per night ( approx)

Was this price high season/low season? shoulder

Hotel Amenities (Restaurants, pools, Internet, etc):
Multiple restaurants - our fav was the cafe across from the foyer... really reasonable prices, a great selection of breakfast stuff to grab and go and also had great takeaway when you get in late from the parks and need a snack. An onsite Disney store, boutiques and small 'chemist' type shop, bridal boutiques and florist. This hotel specializes in wedding packages so it has the most amazing chapel. The Sheraton Grande has a really amazing looking water area - but it was being refurbished so we didn't get to take a dip. There is a surprisingly big internet area in the foyer, but I ordered a personal wifi from eConnect and it worked great both in the hotel and anywhere we went in Tokyo ( delivered to our room and dropped off at the hotel desk at the end)

Room Amenities (bar fridge, room safe, LCD/CableTV, etc): Fridge, in- room safe, phenomenal steam-room style shower, probably some kind of amazing TV ( but we didn't turn it on the whole trip), Kimono and slippers for in room use, Fabulous beds and totally amazing view of both parks and the fireworks from the balcony. The only complaint I have is that we were assured the room was non-smoking, but I doubt there is such a thing in any Japanese hotel as the aircon pumped it back into our room ....

Onsite/offsite: one of the partner hotels - can purchase tickets at the front desk and has wonderful Disney artwork everywhere.

Transportation to parks available:
A regular spectacularly Disney bus runs between the equally spectacularly Disney monorail and the hotel - or you can walk across the road to the monorail station which takes you to the front door of each park and Iskspiari shopping centre.

What you liked: The service in this hotel was really helpful and the view across the Disney parks from the balcony is worth the price of the room alone. The cafe was great, and we used it almost daily. The rooms were cleaned and had hands down the best bathroom in a hotel room I've ever had.

What you didn't like: The cigarette smoke in the aircon system.

Would you stay here again: Absolutely... the location was perfect, the amenities were great, and hopefully, the pool refurb will be finished by our next trip and what looks like an amazing water area can be utilised.
