Epcot International flower and Garden show

Postby mushu mama » Thu Apr 12, 2007 1:04 pm

Has anyone on here been to one of these?

I looked through about 200 photos of this years festival his morning (Laughing Place ) and was blown away by the attention to detail ( which in hindsight, really shouldn't have surprised me at all)
Some of the displays are astounding....
Only Disney would be bothered doing the entire Chinese zodiac in seeds and seedpods.
It goes without saying that the flower beds are spectacular and no one does topiary like Disney.

But the things I would really loved to have seen are

1. the Purfume Trail, a Guerlain representative does a tour of the Guerlain fragrance garden that is set out in the botanical 'families' that make up their scents....
that would be just amazing.

2. The daily Lady bug release.... how cool is that? :D

the photos are well worth a look.

I'm definitely doing this one day.

Della and I have it down as one of those things we must do in the coming years. Laughing Place do a great photo review each year, and we always sit here saying "ooohhh...aaahhhhh"

It was on during the first trip Peter and I took to WDW in 1994. We went at a different time of the year in 1999 and I was so dissapointed because I thought the gardens were like that all year!

You know you can go to a daily butterfly release at the Wilderness Lodge.

I'm a sucker for all that 'releasing' of stuff.... so I'd have to see the butterflies fluttering off to new horizons ... but the releasing of Lady bugs really sound too cute.... That I'd love to see. .

I wonder if they've tried to breed the with white spots instead of black.... a la Minnie Mouse ?

I so want to go to WDW :!:
