Disney Parks trip (with a bit of the world thrown in)

Postby calisota » Mon Apr 03, 2006 2:16 pm

Hi guys,

I've put this in the WDW section, partly because it's empty at the moment and partly because of the nature of the post.

I'm in the early stages of a short (8 weeks) trip around the world next year. I found that i have enough frequent flyer points to get an around-the-world ticket so I mapped out a route and now I have to start saving up my spending money.

The route is:
Gold Coast to Auckland (I am a kiwi after all)
Auckland to Lima (always wanted to hike the Inca trail)
Lima to Orlando (WDW!)
Orlando to London
London to Paris (Paris Disneyland)
Paris to Rome
Rome to Hong Kong (Hong Kong Disneyland)
Hong Kong to Gold Coast

After this I will only have Tokyo Disneyland left.

I'm figuring 9 days in Orlando, 2 days in each of the parks and a day to get to Cape Canaveral. Enough, not enough?

After 8 days at WDW am I going to be parked out and don't really need to go to the other two? If I do go to the other 2 would one day in each be enough. I'm on a bit of a time and budget restriction.

Is there such a thing as an "international passport" that I could get stamped or something to show that I'm a 4 park visitor? Someone told me there is but I've never heard of it.

Probably enough questions for the moment but I'm really interested in feedback.

Hi Greg,

I guess you are going to be exhausted!!!

If you are going to all the trouble have the airmiles why not vist all the parks? Who else has done that in one trip?

Whoa Greg, that sounds awesome! The Inca trail would be great

And now the cat is out of the bag regarding our club's own around the world Disney trip this coming September (see the home page if you missed it!) - I'm signing up for it (as long as Della can get the time off!)

Hong Kong, Paris, Orlando and Anaheim - just an awesome trip (I can't fit in the Tokyo option - I'll have to leave that until 2008 - will need something to look forward too after this trip!)

Sandie: it is good to see you posting here - hope you can make the next meeting (and the world trip!)

Greg, the DU Disneyana trip is planning for 9 days in Orlando too, I've never been there but have been reliably informed that it is sufficient time to see "the parks". I would also like to visit Cape Canaveral when I'm there (space nut talking...) but I don't think this trip will enable enough time to fit it in.

And as for the question of whether you'll be 'parked out' - is there such a thing? haha :)

I will be at the next meeting - I just have to remember to write the trivia questions!!!!!

The club trip will be out for me-we have a 7 week trip next year so there goes all my money! Plus I don't think you would all want my kids tagging along. I was lucky to get my solo DL trip last year, I don't think my husband wouldtaketo kindly to me racking off for a month.

Ahha - fair enough - saving for a seven week trip is a good excuse! I'm assuming there are Disney parks involved?

See you next week Sandie (and make the trivia questions easy - or better yet, email me the answers :D)

I'm really hanging out to hear more details of this club trip, the only problem would be (apart from the money) trying to get time off work at such short notice.

Keith I am very disappointed to hear you want me to help you cheat!!!! :(

However since I know almost nothing about movies and music and also like to show off that I know more than anyone else you can expect all the questions to be about ...... the Parks!!!!

By the way I used the "Partners" photo you took at the back of my last Disneyland scrapbook and it looks awesome blown up to 8 x 10 "

I'll try and remember to bring it next week.

Awesome Sandie - I'm glad that photo came in handy, I'd love to see it in in the finished book.

I love trivia about the Parks (it is funny, I used to sit there unable to answer those questions, now that I've been however, they are all relevent and interesting! Keep them coming!)

I'll move this to it's own thread in the "Down under Disneyana News" section of the forum. It really deserves a thread of its own rather than being tagged onto my trip plans.

Here is the new thread: http://www.dudisneyana.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=115
