Just over a month before Disney + launches in Australia.  I thought by now they'd be signing up subscriptions :)
If they wait until the last minute and get swamped there is always the possibility of things going wrong and people not being able to sign up.

That's always the fear isn't it - 5 million Disney fans crashing the registration system on day one!

They dont seem to be putting any advertising into the Aussie market. I signed up for emails a while ago and still nothing at all

Me too - not a single peep from them.  Their website was leading with Disney+ for a while and then it got buried.  I notice today that it is mentioned again near the top up with the new Mandalorion trailer but still no information about how to subscribe.  That's a bit of a shame as I have plenty of friends at work (non-Disney people) asking me daily when can they sign up - and I have to tell them I've got no idea.

Well I finally saw a television commercial last night for Disney+ on channel 7.  Still no information about how to sign up and their website is still unchanged.  It starts next Tuesday so you'd think we'd be able to sign up by now...maybe they aren't going to take orders until that actual day - who knows?

It's streaming right? So, in theory, you sign up and "boom" you've got it. Still doesn't seem like a very good way to help build anticipation or, at the very least, make it look like they know what they are doing.

I'm on a FB group for Disney+ and there appears to be some streaming and connection issues experienced by some users already.  Hope they sort those within the next week.

Yes - all the major news sites (even the Australian ones) have picked up on the shaky start to the service in the US.  I guess you have to expect teething issues, especially with everyone wanting to watch the same show (The Mandalorian) at the same time :)

Of course - the US launch did have the advantage that subscriptions were open for a month before launch, so people just had to log in and start watching...whereas from the looks of it, we'll also need to go through the painful sign up process (everyone remember census night? LOL) before we get to start viewing.

Still, early reviews of the content seem favourable - so bring on next Tuesday :)

I finally got a Disney+ email today!  It was just the countdown clock and a link to the trailers - but it is the first official email I've received from them :)

Despite the dramas with the Disney+ launch in the US yesterday, it would appear most of those are sorted now and people are pretty impressed with the service.  I've been following #disneyplus on Twitter and everyone there is loving it.  I guess it has a big nostalgia value for people, but the reviews for the Imagineering documentary and The Mandalorian seem pretty good.

Can't wait for next week - let's us subscribe already!!!!

That's what I'd like to be able to do, register the subscription now, so on the day all they do is activate the service and bang, you're off an running.  We can't even see the app in the app store either :(

Yes. I've been looking through the Xbox store and my Samsung smart tv store for the app. No luck so far.

The first episode of The Mandalorian was pretty good. It did suffer a little from trying to fit a lot into a first episode but it definitely has a lot of potential. It also shows that the Star Wars universe is big enough to accommodate all sorts of non-Skywalker stories.

I'll be watching the Imagineering documentary tonight. I thought it was a one off but it's actually six parts, with part one an hour long. Should be able to go into lots of detail with six hours to fill.

The Imagineering Story is excellent. Maybe not much that you don't already know but we are a bit above average here in that regard. What really got me was the quality of the old footage, amazing stuff and at times it was only the clothes that gave away that it wasn't filmed recently.

Looking forward to the next 5 episodes.

We are into the final 24 hour countdown...

I'm getting into the convenience of streaming now - I have Amazon Prime and love being able to stream Jack Ryan in 4K to my TV whenever I want to watch.  I can see Della and I watching a lot of Disney Plus once it commences.
