Disney links with Stan

I see in the news today that Disney has signed a deal with Stan to stream the majority of its content.  See:

I guess that means we will not be getting the Disney+ streaming service in this country - at least not for quite a few years anyhow.

Thanks Keith, time for me to stop watching repeats on free tv and increase the internet plan!

From what I can gather from that article, it appears it’s not the complete catalogue. Will be interesting to watch how this plays out. Not sure it’s enough yet for me to consider a Stan subscription.

No - I'm not going to get a subscription to Stan either.  Mainly because I tend to buy the movies on Bluray anyway.

And yes - I think Channel 7 still have some contractual agreement with Disney for content, so until that runs out, we will continue to see re-runs of Frozen on 7Flix for a while yet :)

I can only imagine the headaches all this causes for the person trying to figure out Disney rights worldwide.

I think that Disney will use this to see how many new subscribers Stan will accrue.  If there is a lot of interest, maybe that'll give Disney the impetus to launch Disney+ here after all.

I posted a news story yesterday about the problems they face getting Disney+ up and running internationally.
