Disney Oscar Nominations

Well it is Oscar time again and Disney has collected a number of nominations:

Animated Feature Film Frozen
Makeup and Hairstyling The Lone Ranger
Music – Original Score Saving Mr. Banks
Music – Original Song 'Let It Go' from Frozen
Short Film – Animated Get a Horse!
Visual Effects Iron Man 3
Visual Effects The Lone Ranger

The awards will be presented on 2 March 2014.

No Tom Hanks or Emma Thompson though.
2023 Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines - Disney Wish. Going to be awesome to be back!

No, and I would think the producers of Saving Mr. Banks would be disappointed by the fact that The Lone Ranger got more nominations than they did.

I really thought Emma Thompson was a sure thing for a nomination - she was excellent.

Other notable omissions - nothing from Pixar in either the Best Animation category (Monsters University missed out, yet The Croods were nominated??) or Animated Short - with Pixar's The Blue Umbrella also missing out.

I was very surprised that Saving Mr Banks and Monsters U missed out on any noms as well...

Frozen was well deserved and I'm guessing will be a shoe in for the golden statue.
