Yay - about time we had another Infinity fan on here! I went through a big obsession craze after Christmas! I'm still short some of the newer Powerdiscs (most shops here didn't stock them) but I got all the figures - they make for a nice collection!

Just checked our spare disks. Cant help Keith (unless anyone wants to cover their walls in Wreck It Ralph Candy backgrounds. Our local EB Games sells "second hand" (i.e.duplicate) disks for $2. I have picked up a few from them without much effort.

That's okay - I'm saving my money for Disney Infinity 2.0 - can't wait to begin collecting those new Marvel characters (and Merida and Maleficent too!)

Uhh ok - the pre-sale for Everyday Reward card holders is a bust - the Disney Infinity figures are not considered toys. Have to wait for the catalogue to start (next Thursday) The nice lady at our local Big W is keeping my figures at their Layby section until next weekend.
Also, EB Games is starting to sell Dinsey Infinity figures second hand for $9

Has anyone got their Disney Infinity 2.0 yet?

I got the starter pack today and Captain America and Hawkeye figures. The starter pack was $68 and the figures $12 each at Big-W.

Despite being a huge Avengers fan when I was a kid, not sure I'll go with these (not at full price anyhow.)
Looking more tasty are the Disney figures slated for release 6th November. They include:
a certain naughty but lovable space alien, a bad-tempered duck, a jealous little fairy, a street rat, a scottish archer with unruly red hair and a modern version of a fave villainess, along with some characters from the new movie Big Hero 6. Must get the first two and the redhead!

Disney Infinity 3.0 was announced last week.

It'll have a whole bunch of Star Wars playsets and figurines, and also more Disney classics, including Mulan, Mickey and Minnie, Olaf, and more. I can't wait to start collecting in August!

And so it all comes to an end :(

Disney announced today during their earnings conference that they will discontinue Disney Infinity.  They will still release the Alice and Dory figures later this year, but no more after that.  In fact, they are closing down all their in-house video game studios and from now on will just licence their properties to third parties.

See the article here:
http://venturebeat.com/2016/05/10/the-disney-infinity-franchise-is-over-as-entertainment-company-pulls-out-of-console-games/

Despite video games being one of the world's biggest entertainment revenue streams, Disney have just not been able to crack it.  I thought with Infinity that they were on a winner, however each edition and playset was pretty much the same as the last as far as gameplay was concerned.  Every time I got a new playset, I was hoping for something new, but it was really the same game just re-skinned to a different franchise time and again.

That said, I'll really miss collecting the figurines - they were high quality collectibles at a cheap price (when on special).  It is just a shame they didn't release more classic characters.

We were sad to hear this news this morning too. It's surprising because Disney infinity was higher selling than Lego dimensions and skylander. We'll finish off the collection but yeah, it's disappointing more classic characters weren't released, like Peter Pan that was rumoured.
