It is well worth the hype.
I see myself wasting a lot of time on this

I was just in JB Hifi in the City and they had just about run out of starter packs and the EB only appear to have Wii starter packs left. I think Disney are on a winner with this. People were just grabbing figurines like crazy people.

I had a good look at the figurines as well and they look terrific. Can't wait for the Princess figurines to come out LOL.

Starting to think selling all our various consoles a few months ago was a bit premature.... I want to play this and now will have to buy the whole box and dice if I want to.

Hey Gerard - do you have the iPad Toy Box app for Infinity? I don't find it very easy to build stuff and was wondering if the console version is easier?

Disney Infinity is a lot of fun!

I loved the intro-sequence, that was totally brilliant. I haven't played much of the actual game yet but I should have time today to get really into it.

To echo Gerard:
I see myself wasting a lot of time on this...

Gerard (and any one else with Infinity for that matter), what characters and power discs do you have and do you have any power disc doubles that you want to swap at the next meeting?

Here is my list so far:
Wreck it Ralph
Vanellope
Lone Ranger
Lone Ranger Crystal
Tonto
Rapunzel
Captain Jack
Captain Barbossa
Davy Jones
Mike
Sully
Randall
Mr Incredible
Mrs Incredible
Violet
Syndrome
Mater
Lightening McQueen Crystal

I only have one power disc which came with the starter set - I have Mulan's horse.

I'm heading down to the shops now to drop off my dry cleaning, so there is a possibility that I might expand my collection when I'm down there - LOL.

Okay, so the situation may have changed slightly since I've come back from visiting Target...

I also have:
Anna
Elsa
Woody
Jessie
Buzz
Dash
Holly Shiftwell
Francesco
Sully (Crystal)
Buzz Lightyear (Crystal)
Jack Skellington

I now have two duplicate magic discs:
Mulan's horse
Cinderella's carriage
...any one want to swap?

Has anyone seen the Jack Skellington piece for sale in the shops since Christmas? We saw it before Christmas but haven't found it since. I've been all over the City, Penrith, Bankstown and Miranda with no luck.

I have some more duplicate power discs if anyone wants to swap or buy at the next meeting:

Series 1 discs
1. Bolt's Super Strength - as described (I have two of these)
6. Cinderella's Coach - as described. (I have two of these)
7. Khan - Mulan's horse. (I have two of these)
9. Carl Frederickson's Cane - as described
10. King Candy's Dessert Toppings - Sugar Rush texture pack.
11. Mike's New Car - Vehicle from Monster's Inc short. (I have two of these)
12. Alice's Wonderland (wonderland texture set)
16. Rapunzel's Kingdom - Tangled terrain textures.

Series 2 discs
7. Maximus - Rapunzel's/Flynn's horse
17. Jack's Scary Decorations - Nightmare Before Christmas texture pack.
18. Electric Mayhem Bus - Muppets Bus (I have two of these - these are rare discs)

I found Jack Skellington today - new stock has arrived and he was in JB Hifi at World Square.

Just need Sorcerer Mickey and the Phineas/Agent P set and I'm done :)

I've also updated my duplicate power discs above.

(Am I the only one around here obsessed with Infinity?)

I've updated my duplicate power disc list above.

I'm interested in swapping for the following missing discs:

Series One
2. Fix-it Felix repair power
13. Tulgey Wood

Series Two
14. New Holland Sky

Plus any of the EB Games Exclusive pre-order powerdiscs that they are no longer supplying (stupid EB Games...)

Any assistance in obtaining any of the five discs above will be greatly appreciated!

According to the Wall Street Journal, Disney are currently developing Star Wars and Marvel characters for future releases of Disney Infinity.

I'd be interested to know if other Infinity fans here (that's you Gerard) are interested in collecting pieces from these other Disney properties or whether you are just interested in the classic Disney and Pixar works? I'm leaning towards just the classics, but if the newer versions of Infinity have a lot more different gameplay options, then I might be swayed to head down the Star Wars path at the very least.

Damn you Disney - you have too many good properties to put into Infinity...just take my money now...

Disney Infinity and Marvel will be hosting a press event on 30 April to unveil Disney Infinity version 2.0.

They released a teaser trailer last week which indicated the presence of Captain America (at least his shield!) so I would expect to see a lot more unveiled at the press event. We are also waiting to see how version 2.0 integrates with the original Disney Infinity collection - hopefully there will be some news how it it will all work together.

They have stated today that Star Wars will not be a part of this release - and that makes perfect sense to me as they are releasing the new Star Wars movie next year so they will tie that in with version 3.0 of Infinity.

What I'm most interested in of course is what classic Disney figures will make this next release?

Disney Infinity 2.0 was announced today with a heavy emphasis on the Marvel Universe. 20 Marvel characters will be available in 2.0 which will launch later this year (around August). They haven't announced which classic Disney characters will appear in the new version, however the new trailer they launched included Merida, Maleficent and Stitch.

Version 2.0 will launch with a new starter pack which will include Thor, Ironman, and Black Widow.

I'll provide more info and pictures tonight.

Heads up for Disney Infinity figure collectors. Big W have got a buy 1 get 1 free deal for single characters in their next toy catalogue (June 26 - July 9) (unless you have an everday rewards card deal which means you can get them from tonight onwards)
I (ahem, the kids) still need Woody, Sorcerer Mickey, Jack Skellington, Elsa and Anna, Rapunzel, Ralph and Vanellope, Phineas and Agent P. mmmm at half price I may just be able to do it.
