Disney CEO has issued the following statement:

ROBERT A. IGER, PRESIDENT AND CEO, THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY ON STEVE JOBS' PASSING

Steve Jobs was a great friend as well as a trusted advisor. His legacy will extend far beyond the products he created or the businesses he built. It will be the millions of people he inspired, the lives he changed, and the culture he defined. Steve was such an "original," with a thoroughly creative, imaginative mind that defined an era. Despite all he accomplished, it feels like he was just getting started. With his passing the world has lost a rare original, Disney has lost a member of our family, and I have lost a great friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Laurene and his children during this difficult time.

yep, a rare original... thats what I was thinking when I heard... there are so few people that can not only think outside the box but also build an empire outside it.

Only one year older than my own dad... so very young... :(

It goes without saying that his family and friends will miss him tremendously, but also a legion of people all over the world that his innovations have become part of their everyday.

This is one of those days in history that will be marked for the change that it will bring. I believe that he was the driving force behind the monumental shift in the direction technology is heading, so we can only hope that he has left behind a legacy of people that shared his vision and have the ability to continue with the work he did at Apple. We cannot also forget he bought PIXAR to the fore with his own backing, as well as any driving force behind the Disney corp as it's major shareholder. This is a sad day, but his passing must be celebrated for what he has left behind.
2023 Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines - Disney Wish. Going to be awesome to be back!

I'm not an Apple fan, but I cannot deny the legacy of Steve Jobs.

Like Walt Disney, he was able to provide products that the public/consumer wanted - before the public even knew they wanted them! That in my mind, makes him a true visionary. RIP.

Like many, I found out about Steve Jobs passing on an Apple Product.
I was in a meeting when a CNN alert flashed on my iPad.
I think the biggest contribution to Disney was his sale of Pixar to the company.

I saw some footage today that was taken in August and was amazed by how sickly he'd become.

RIP Steve :(
