Unexpected Disney Fans

Postby ajp » Thu May 19, 2011 10:28 am

Was talking to one of our field guys this morning. To paint the picture he has dreadlocks, many piercings and tatts. I had my WDW jumper on and he asked if I was fan. We got talking and he is also a Disney nut. So much so that he plans to get a tattoo sleeve of all the Disney characters he grew up with and is prepared to go further on the body if required. He searched a long time to find the right artist. I just thought it great that he's prepared to go to such lengths to honor his passion. Has anyone else come across unexpected or unusual fans?

Wow... thats dedication... a whole sleeve of Disney... good on him though for following his passion..

One of the guys in my class at Tafe is also a huge fan, has visited Disneyland once as a child and really loves the characters/movies side of the whole Disney thing the best. Its great having someone else in the class as keen on Disney as me and to chat Disney with in person.

I had a closet Disneyland fan at my old work - but she was mainly into the attractions rather than the immersion.

I haven't found anyone in my current office yet - and everyone knows I'm into it, so I guess I'm the only one.

I was listening to someone describe a colleague who holidays every year in a disney park and whose wife spends thousands on merchandise. I was thinking gee this person sounds familiar. Then they said his name is Barry!!!! but after further discussion it was not someone I know but they certainly should join the club.

I've come across a few people who get at least a little bit of the magic of Disney, but not the way we all get it. Sounds like there are quite a few closet fans out there though :D
