The future in Character interaction?

Postby mushu mama » Fri May 07, 2010 10:49 am

Just thought I'd share this snippet of a 'playtest' for the possible next step in character interaction in the parks that was conducted in DL.

How cool is that? Like Crush in Turtle Talk... I'd love to see this IRL, but imagine how long each visit with the characters would take with everyone wanting to have a 'quick chat' with Mickey. I can see the lines getting longer and much more frustrating. My guess is they'd only do this in areas where they could control the whole thing, like only in Mickey's house or similar.

WOW! If they can make this work, I think the whole character interaction thing will take on a new perspective. For example, our kids had a fun time with Goofy in DL recently, with Goofy "dismissing" 1 and hugging the other. It was very cool, but we had to rely on body language to understand it. If he could have spoken what he was thinking it would have been so much better. It would also bring the "plastic head" characters in line with the human ones, because we can talk with the princesses, Mary Poppins and the like, but not the others. Bring it on I say.

I think this is cool too - although I have to say that I'd still be more comfortable talking to face characters (esp. princesses...) than rubber heads...
