Dave Smith answered my Question

Postby Gerard » Sat Jan 16, 2010 5:22 pm

I asked a "Ask Dave" Question on the D23 site and I just found it was answered -/

Q. I was lucky to win lot No. 32, the Fantasia 1940 and 1977 programs at the D23 Expo Live Auction. I was surprised at the great condition these programs are in and the wonderful detail of the colour plates. I was wondering if you could tell me more about them and where they came from.
Gerard, Sydney, Australia
A: First, congratulations! The programs were extra copies which had been saved at the Disney Studio. The 1940 program was the only place one could get the filmmakers' credits when one went to see the motion picture, because there were no credits on the screen. The 1977 program was created for Fantasia's fifth reissue that year, to make it appear as much of a special event as it was when it was first released.

Nope, we made sure we weren't going to be hit with the Golden Week crowds.

Golden Week?
It is a week each year when four public holidays (all unrelated) coincide. As everyone is on holidays, MANY people descend on Tokyo Disneyland.

I think that Mel is okay as she'll not be there at the time. It takes place between 29-April and 5-May.

Yay - Dave Smith answered my question on the D23 site (well - in a fashion he did, but he had to toe the "official" Disney line...)

I asked about the Japanese merchandise that features the "marriage" of Mickey and Minnie. You'll see his answer in the "Ask Dave" section on the right of this page:

Gee Keith, that answer was short and sweet. It's nearly as if you were "told".
2023 Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines - Disney Wish. Going to be awesome to be back!

Yep! It is almost like "Don't go there - we do not acknowledge that that Japanese merchandise exists! Now move along you silly man!" :D
