Yep, did miss that news, thanks Keith. We've never done the stage show trip to Melbourne before, but may do it for this one.

I'm pretty sure that will be on the cards. I'll discuss this with Wayne - we were definitely going to have a Sydney outing to MP when it was originally going to open in Sydney - so I don't see any reason why we cannot arrange a weekend show in Melbourne.

I'm annoyed at this! I was so looking forward to it coming to Sydney. With our upcoming Gold Coast trip and then Disney next May, I don't know how we'll be able to afford a trip down to Melbourne. I was REALLY looking forward to seeing MP :(

Don't worry too much Mel. If history is anything to go by, this show will make its way up to Sydney once its Melbourne run is complete.

I need to have something to plan so I have started thinking about Mary Poppins. Rydges (across the road from the theatre) are planning packages but they are not available yet. But to get a comparison their Chicago packages start at $189 and include pre-theatre cocktails and a buffet breakfast. You can sign up with them and get emails when deals become available.

No - we are waiting for the decision makers to come forth and and proclaim the date, but all is silent. Me thinks they have forgotten the plebians after their journey to the land of D23. Do they not know how we cry out in our darkness, "give us Mary Poppins, we need a club trip too"? As you well know my sister-on-line we were abandoned in our great dream of a trip North to the land of suntans and meter maids. Let us wait patiently in the ether with crossed fingers and bouncing mickeys -/ for the proclamation!

Oooh...did someone just say "meter maids"?
:D

Patience everyone - plans are afoot - the next meeting flyer is on its way out and mentions Mary Poppins, but I think dates for the club trip to Melbourne have not been settled yet - don't worry, it'll still be on the cards!

Club trip to Mary Poppins!

For those of you who were at the meeting last Saturday night, you would have heard Wayne mention a club trip to see Mary Poppins in Melbourne next September.

All members will receive a mail-out in the coming days about this, but note that we've had to change the date that we announced last week. The trip will now be held on September 11 2010 - not the 18th like previously advised.

This club trip includes hotel + A-Reserve tickets for the show. You will have to arrange your own flights to Melbourne.

Once the mail-out has been finalised, I'll also update this thread with the details for those of you who don't get the mail-outs.

Hope you can all make it as it is a really good show.
