Year of a Million Dreams prizes

Postby mushu mama » Mon Aug 25, 2008 8:46 pm

How lucky was that girl to win such a fantastic surprise just by touching a fountain?

Of those that have been in the parks in the YOMD times, did any of you get treats connected to this promotion?

I saw LOTS and lots of people with those wonderful all day fast passes. There were also lots of people wearing special YOMD mickey ears that I tried valiantly to acquire but missed out on those... I was never in the right place at the right time. :?

The closest I came was the next time I visit DL they are going to hook up the Lilly Belle caboose to the train and me and my 'party' are going to get a ride around the park in it...
google it... the carriage is wicked...

who's coming...

Lisa.

PS: Oh yeah... and I got a big black and white photo of Mickey signed especially for me.

Gerard won some ears and fastpasses didn't he? But I think it was so quiet that he didn't use the fastpasses! I intend to win a night at the castle and in Walt's suite. Knowing my luck I'll win them on the day I am flying out - then what would you do?

My parents got the fastpasses each. They used 2 of them, but didn't know about the YOAMD promotion until I explained it to them when they got home.

I wonder what the exact figures are...x prizes per day, y people going in to the park...the odds of getting something are...

Of course I could just have been too ugly and scary for anyone to want to approach. :(

Nah... Don't think so... I saw some pretty frightful people with some wicked free stuff... its more about right place at the right time I think. maybe even striking up a conversation with the right cast member. For instance, when I was going through the new 'house of tomorrow' exhibit, I got talking to a CM for well over half an hour... she was lovely and when I said "well, better see some more of tomorrow today" ( or something equally sucky  ) she handed me two gorgeous CM pins - One Tink YOMD's one and a too dang cute Donald Duck one... see... right place at the right time talking to the right CM. I gave her a Koala that I'd been carting around all over the US. :D

And I can't believe none of you have offered to come with me in the Lilly Belle....

take a look and then tell me you don't want to go on her....

No one wants to go?

Oh all right - if I have to. But you must at least follow some sort of a plan - even if it is preparing your outfit the night before!!!!!!

   ( and I seriously mean chuckling out loud)

Ok... I can manage that. ( even though my natural instinct is to get out of the shower and grab the first T shirt and pair of jeans I come across)...

I have seen the error of my ways oh mighty Disney planner.... I hold your planning prowess in the highest esteem... and I hereby vow to take the planning stages much more seriously next trip ... is it ok if I pick your brain when I have to knuckle down and plan something?

OH... you're not going to wake me up at the crack of dawn ( or before  ) are you?

At Disneyland? Without kids? 45 minutes prior to park opening as long as you can eat on the trot!

45 minutes prior to park opening

Prior to park opening...
what a novel idea...

I guess I could try it once...

can I ask why so early if you are only going to stand and look at closed gates?
as long as you can eat on the trot!
not a problem.... I could eat noodles with chopsticks on a bumpy bus in the middle of Bali traffic if need be... 8)

45 minutes - 15 minutes to dress, 15 minutes to walk to the park and usually you can get in a bit earlier just to Main Street so I will have 15 minutes to grab something to eat! This only works because I am a night time showerer - you may need to get up earlier!!!!

Yeah... but the rest I can do... 15 minutes to dress, 5 minutes makeup, 2 minutes hair ( can't do anything with curls), stay across from the gate and it only takes 5 minutes to walk, giving me time to shower and eat on the run...

I think we can do this Sandie... :D
