Is he Disney's?

A really interesting article that I just put on the front page about who does or doesn't own Mickey mouse.

I haven't had a chance to read the whole article (I'm on my lunch break ) but the very thought of someone other than the Disney company owning Mickey is too horrible to contemplate....

Lisa. ( I can't possibly use a bouncing mickey for this post) :?

Ok, I've read the whole article now.

All I can say is what a dirty job corporate/copyright law is. And I kind of feel sorry for that Brown bloke in a way. What a sorry little life he's led trying to find ways to take advantage of loopholes and anomalies. Maybe I missed something but it seems like he'd have been better served finding some (dare I say it...) pixie dust and seek his fortune in a way that brings him good karma rather than the wrath of Walt.
Just my 20 cents...

Mickey is Disney... and Disney is Mickey. They belong together.

I agree that legalese has gone too far sometimes, and people who try and exploit decades old loopholes should take a long hard look at themselves. But that article was fascinating in just how it pieced the arguments together.

Yeah, I was surprised that people actually spent that much time looking for those minuscule gaps in legal jargon but I did find it fascinating that this argument was such a long time in the making.
