Doom and gloom Disney news.

Postby mushu mama » Sun Aug 10, 2008 12:21 pm

So Greg, whats up with all the doom and gloom Disney news off the front page of the site? With all the dumpings, slumpings, and McDonalds closures ( that horrifys me by the way) I'm wondering if there are not any happy Disney stories out there anymore.
Or are you just in a bad mood?

Wheres the magic? :D

Where's the edit button on the jumping and the flashing...

Most of the Disney news at the moment is about some Cyrus girl that I just skip over. Of the other stuff I figured that the McDonalds closures are good news.

At least no one is dying on the rides at the moment. :D

Now I know I'm supposed to be outraged and whatever (being the mother of a young girl, and to a degree, I am) but for some reason the article about the 'dive in' pants really had me chuckling.

What tosser approved that design? Seriously, anyone could have told you that most parents of children that age group would be concerned about the implications of such a statement on underwear.
what they need to do is remove most of the fabric, sew on G-string apparatus and then market them at an older age group. It'd be better than some of the stuff you see printed on ladies underwear these days.

I am constantly amazed at some of things that young girls (and I mean really young) are wearing. Do they understand it or is it just about what it is rather than what it means? I also have to wonder if it's not already a problem by the time someone is in a position to read them.

Apparently it has something to do with High School Musical and a scene at the end where they jump into a pool.

Its part 'marketing machine' in that it has HSM on it so it must be good, and part emulating idols. I've witnessed some Oscar winning hissy fits in the toy aisle and thats just the branding at work. And it works on more than the kids... parents and grandparents are not immune.

Precisely. :!:

I see we're doing the Disney Doom and Gloom again.

Disney is supposed to be happy isn't it?
