Re: COVID-19 - Shanghai

I see Shanghai Disneyland is preparing to reopen.  There has been some social media reports coming out showing the park testing social distancing measures at the park entry gates (new signage on the ground similar to what the supermarkets are doing here) along with images of cast members lining up a...

Re: COVID19 Thread

With the collapse of Virgin Australia today, I think airlines will be hoping for any money to fill seats, so I think as long as they are covering costs, they sell tickets at a low price to drive up demand.  But I can't see ourselves going overseas for a while now.  I think we will travel locally esp...

Re: Disneyland Anaheim Closes

Yeah - it is an interesting question - how will they reopen the parks.  I'm guessing it'll be reduced numbers and no fireworks or parades to start with.  But no one really knows.  And as for the cruise industry, it is going to take them years to recover.  I suspect Disney will delay the delivery of ...

Re: COVID19 Thread

So we are a few weeks into this thing now - how are we all doing?  Adjusting okay to life at home?  Ready to rampage through the streets? :) Things are okay for us - our work from home routine is going okay.  And I'm not spending any money at all - no shopping, no transport costs, no lunches at work...

Re: COVID19 Thread

Just a bit more Disney+ news.  They will be releasing Onward here on Disney+ on the 24th April!  It never even made it into the cinemas here except for a few sneak peeks. I felt for sure they would just delay the release until the September school holidays, but no - we'll get to see it on Disney+ in...

Re: 2020 Club Meetings

From Wayne: Upcoming Club Events Animated movie Mulan Watch details below:   Movie event Mulan planned for Saturday 4th April. Due to the Corona virus and the delay in the release of Mulan and also the possible closure of cinemas I have decided to have a stay at home event. Please join us as we watc...

Re: COVID19 Thread

Keith - would you be able to continue working from home after this is all over, and would you prefer to if you had the option? We were discussing this at work the other day - I think the way we all work will be changed dramatically after all this as I think we'll prove that it is possible to mainta...

Re: COVID19 Thread

Hi Greg - the government announced more shut downs last night here.  Beauticians, nail salons, shopping centre food court seating areas, weddings are restricted to five people (the couple, the two witnesses and the celebrant); funerals restricted to 10 people. Schools are still open as are the shopp...

LOL - I have no social media skills either except for hanging out here.  I don't do facebook, instagram, twitter etc - just the old blogs and forums for me.

Re: COVID19 Thread

I'm with you Karen - I imagine Disney+ and the online store are the only remaining consumer income stream for Disney at the moment.  Sure they are getting advertising revenue from their television affiliates, but direct I can only think of those other two straight from consumers themselves.  So I th...

Re: COVID19 Thread

And speaking of Onward - I see they are releasing it onto Disney+ in the US on 2 April!  Amazing that it has only been in cinemas a couple of weeks.  I guess they realise they cannot make any more money from it in the US now so they're releasing it on the streaming service. I doubt they'll do that h...

Re: Bob Iger steps down effective immediately!

Keith you mentioned there were some blogs you were on, do you have any links to decent ones?  I have some free time on my hands coming up.  Thinking of getting Bob Iger's book to get me away from the computer. I'm sure you are aware of the main ones: Micechat -  http://www.micechat.com/miceage-wp/ ...

Re: COVID19 Thread

Do we know if any club members who had holidays booked but have had to cancel now?
I understand Elissa and Judy had a trip including a cruise cancelled, and Jess isn't confident her 40th birthday trip to Disneyland in September will happen but it isn't cancelled yet.
