Re: Bob Iger steps down effective immediately!

Thanks Keith, I know of about some of these but have found it hard to find my way around on a couple of them .  I am behind on my social media skills, now is a good time to improve my skills!

Re: Bob Iger steps down effective immediately!

Keith you mentioned there were some blogs you were on, do you have any links to decent ones?  I have some free time on my hands coming up.  Thinking of getting Bob Iger's book to get me away from the computer. I do wonder what is going through Bob Chapek's head at the moment.  With the strong team I...

Re: Tokyo Disneyland to close, Coronavirus

Yep - I am starting to wonder about that too!  We've been calm and haven't gone crazy, and now I wonder if I should have been pushing the old ladies out of the way so I could grab that last can of baked beans - everyone for themselves!!! I did get a few extra rolls of toilet paper from my parents a...

Re: COVID19 Thread

Sorry to hear Greg, I'm not planning on going out other than work, shopping and Pilates as long as I have these open.  My company had to stand staff down yesterday, a few of us are on 2 days a week so I am fortunate to have some work and pay.  Tough times for business owners as well as staff.  Hopin...

Re: Tokyo Disneyland to close, Coronavirus

No panic at all in Thailand. Certainly no panic buying though so I can get you as much stuff as you want.

Greg
Let's hope the jokes not on those of us who didn't stock up!  It is seriously crazy.

Re: Bob Iger steps down effective immediately!

We were talking at work this morning and maybe Chapek is the right person at times like this.  Disney is definitely going to feel the pinch from COVID-19 and needs a business person at the helm who can steer them through austerity.  We all know Bob Iger was a big spender - maybe they recognise that...

Re: COVID19 Thread

How fast things change.  Sad as it is for those with trips booked, it is smart to close down and try and stop this. My company isn't meeting until Monday to even discuss what we're doing.  We still have trainers with domestic travel booked, however as we do quite a bit of school-based training I su...

Re: Bob Iger steps down effective immediately!

I was surprised to see this so soon, however what an amazing impact he's had - he's certainly due for a long relaxing holiday by now.   Chapek is coming in at a really tough time.  Paris may be next to close based on previous pattern.  I'm sure they're already working on plans for the US parks if it...

Re: Tokyo Disneyland to close, Coronavirus

I think Japan have been smart in learning from other countries and closing before it gets out of hand and I'm sure they'll stay closed until they feel the threat has passed.  As it moves around the world though it's hard to know when the threat to them is truly over. Ironically when Shanghai closed ...

Re: Tokyo Disneyland to close, Coronavirus

Not surprising, Universal has also closed.  Let's hope they do reopen when they say.  Still concerned about the future of Hong Kong, let's hope all goes well and they all reopen as soon as they can.

Re: 2020 Club Meetings

I'm feeling the downward spiral of being away from Disney so am keen, but will see how I go over the next week to determine whether I can get down to Sydney so soon after a trip!

Re: Today's Disney News from the front page...

Disney drops 3% after Wuhan coronavirus forces closure of Shanghai and Hong Kong theme parks Greg This article may relate to the shares, however I am concerned for Hong Kong Disney.  It was very quiet when we were there, even a Sunday when some shows or character lines filled but overall lines were...

Hotel Review

For quality and class I'd go Disneyland Hotel If you like theming definitely Toy Story Hotel Toy Story Hotel Room: Cute bed runners and the shower curtain had sketches of the Toy Story characters.  Walls were a bit thin, with noise coming through when everyone returned after park closure - to be fai...

Karen 2020 CNY Hong Kong/Shanghai

Back home tired, but nice emptying the suitcases with so many reminders of a great trip. One load of washing done and lots of 'stuff' on the dining table for a photo of what I brought back before finding homes and creating some CNY displays in my house. Will write a hotel review on the Hong Kong pag...

Re: Disneyland Express has ceased

I've never used Disneyland Express but we generally used Super Shuttle in any city we could so this will be more thinking for getting to and from airports which I'm in the USA. Looking forward to the review of Karmel which may be our only option. I have used John Wayne which was very convenient, how...
