Re: Only one day, so which park?

Wow, it's been almost a year since I was on this blog! I feel like COVID changed us all looking on the blog as nobody was travelling. Which park did you do Greg? How was your day? I'm heading to Japan at the start of April for a 3 week trip with both my sisters. We'll do 4 days at Disney and have a ...

Re: WDW 50th

I can't remember how to add pictures. There were tables, coat racks, artwork, old ride vehicles (or possibly display ones) in the bigger items. Loads of smaller items which could have been Disney display or merch people were getting rid of. I went through old Christmas baubles which were dated howev...

Re: End of Magical Express at WDW

That's interesting to know. Did you get a US number just for the trip, buy a sim at the airport or do you just happen to have one? Greg We ordered SIMs online from a company my sister saw mentioned by a few users on Facebook and did comparisons against others people recommended. AU$55 for 30 days w...

Re: End of Magical Express at WDW

We arrived at Orlando airport with full intentions of getting a cab. I saw plenty of signs to Mears so we just caught that - $32 return ticket each. This also meant our return trip was pre-booked and we didn't have to think about it. Bus was quick and only does a limited number of hotels in the same...

Re: Defunctland documentaries on youtube

Sounds interesting, I'll have to look this up. Now that I don't have a trip to plan I'll be looking for a distraction from housework and living in the real world ;)

Re: New old CEO

Prices are certainly higher than before, however crowds appear to be up so complaints about prices aren't lining up with the actual attendance and use of genie+. America as a whole isn't as cheap as it used to be so perhaps the overall increasing costs is also impacting? Disney seems to be softening...

Re: WDW 50th

Anthony how was the weather when you were there? I didn't arrive until mid-Feb and after 2 nice days it turned hot and the majority of our trip was reminiscent of a Brisbane summer (which I was trying to escape)! When I do WDW again I would look to go November-January at best. It was a great trip th...

Re: Disney Cruise Line - Australia

Good to know, at least I have another chance if I want to brave the choppy seas for the excitement of a Disney cruise. I was so excited last time but chickened out!

Re: COVID19 Thread

Wow...New England in fall is definitely on the bucket list, I'm jealous about that one. Having 4 distinct seasons like that is something I've never really experienced. No such thing as a sneaky trip to Disney, they are all "Woohoo!! I'm going to Disney!!". Greg The trip was amazing! My older sister...

Re: End of Magical Express at WDW

A taxi sounds expensive. Is it really the most convenient/cost effective way? Greg Wow I didn't realise how long it had been since I was on this page. With nobody travelling it's been a little quite. Busses would be the most cost effective, just not convenient for arrival at the hotel considering w...

Re: WDW 50th

Yes we’ve been previously this time of year and yes we saw snow at both Orlando and at Key West. Didn’t settle but it was there. We’re expecting cold weather. We’re starting in San Fran and going to NY after the cruise so we’ll be prepared. Sounds like a fantastic trip - I do love San Fran and NYC....

Re: WDW 50th

How exciting! You'll be leaving not long before I arrive (mid Feb). My last trip was 2015 and there's been loads of changes since then so I can't imagine how different it will be for you. Hopefully EPCOT will have their 40th celebration for a few months so we can also enjoy that. Enjoy the planning ...

Re: End of Magical Express at WDW

Getting to and from WDW we'll likely use a taxi on arrival as we land just after 8:00pm, then either Mears or a taxi to return. My sister drives over there so we have a car for 2 weeks in the middle of our next trip. I have driven on one trip on country roads and then inside National Parks. I'm not ...

Re: COVID19 Thread

Keith - I'm in! I've booked the 2 nights at AKL with a savannah view for my birthday. The dream is alive! Greg I am with you on switching between a great trip and living. I'd love to change jobs even if it pays less; but let's be honest, I really don't want to get paid less! A friend in New England ...

Re: Disney Cruise Line - Australia

Sounds great, however I'm still concerned about sea-sickness and the images over the past 2 days of the Coral Princess off Brisbane in 6.5m waves causing the pool to splash huge waves isn't helping. One passenger captioned their photo - who wants to surf; uhm not me :? Keith I'm not sure if I should...
